The Beaufort Arms in Monmouthshire

Food was different from both online and paper menus. Wasnt told about the specials, and service took quite a while (but assuming staff shortages like everywhere else). Food wasn't great, chips were terrible, had obviously been reheated or under a lamp for ages.

The Colliers mature cheddar and chutney ciabatta with crisps and coleslaw was £9 plus, a tad pricey but if it's done well....... It wasn't. The crisps and coleslaw failed to appear. The mixed leaf garnish had no dressing and the Colliers turned out to be cheddar cheese slices. If it was Colliers it was too thin to taste over the chutney. Certainly not what it said on the box.

Went for lunch today. Booked a table for 1 30 no tables we had to either eat outside or eat inthe bar . We went into the bar and a lady with a dog who apologised about the dog hairs everywhere. We were then moved into a deserted restaurant by a very nice lady called Sue. I ordered beetroot and goats cheese salad. My husband ordered soup. When my came the beetroot was yellow and it was not what I was expecting. They did change it to pate eventually my steak arrived it was supposed to be medium but was oozing bloody the tomatoes and mushrooms were black and the chips were cold my husband ordered salmon which was black as well. The manager Miguel did offer to record my steak but was quick to point out that no none else had complained. He accused me of shouting which I certainly did not. He had very little public relations skills which is such a shame as we haveLoved dining there but sadly don't think we will return 😢

Overnight stay on a fishing trip. Old building with typical old building accommodation. Good grub and friendly attentive staff. Would do it again.

Stopped here and had a wonderful 2 course lunch. Spotlessly clean inside. Very polite staff. All the food was freshly cooked and absolutely delicious. Very large portions too. I would highly recommend. A huge notch above your normal pub food!

Very nice food and a comprehensive menu, accompanied by good service. There is a reasonably sized carpark to the side and back of the building and also some outside/ covered dining. The prices are reasonable and the 2 course lunch menu is particularly good value. We will definitely return for another visit.

When we visited a few evenings ago, the staff were efficient but wouldn’t rate them as being particularly friendly or welcoming.The starter and main course were enjoyable and well cooked, but the meringues we chose from the dessert menu were so hard that we had to get a knife to try and cut through them. Better used for bricks than dessert! In fact the worst meringue I have ever had! The Baked Alaska was also disappointing - tasted very synthetic. It was mentioned to the waiting staff, but no acknowledgement of our dis-satisfaction was made.Certainly won’t rush back as there are far better places to eat locally that offer so much more.

Lovely atmosphere, fantastic decor both inside and out! Great choice on the menu, especially the fish and fillet steak, which we had. Excellent service, prompt but not pushy. We waited a while to order our sweets but not a problem at all. Try the baked Alaska! Amazing. Definitely be coming back!

Perfect hosts for the wake after the funeral of a close family friend. Lovely space for everyone to gather and the food etc that was put on by the team here was lovely.

Wonderful pub/restaurant. Beautifully decorated and a very cosy feel. We had the swordfish which was incredible. Would love to come back if we are ever in the area again.
