This is a lovely Wetherspoons, let down by under staffing. Slow service and lukewarm food if you are unlucky enough to order the quicker of the two meals on a table.

Called in at 6.30pm with family. Huge place but found it difficult to find a clear table. Finally asking the staff to clear one.Meals arrived quickly, grandsons curry ok although mango pickle missing. My rump steak with jacket potato and mushroom was missing tomato, onion rings and the pepper sauce. Waiter returned with 3 onion rings only said he would return with the rest. Didn't see him again.Cut in to jacket potato to find it was cold. Another member of staff took it away and returned in about 10 minutes. Tomato and onion rings on plate but now no mushroom or pepper sauce and steak overdone. Wife and daughters scampi dishes were also sub standard.Called for manager who apologised and said they had staff shortages. This might affect lack of table clearing and cleaning but should not affect incorrectly cooked food and missing items.Refund was given for problem meals.

We walked in and walked back out after seeing table after table piled up with unfinished food we were both hungrybut couldn’t stay after what we saw!

Another Weatherspoons gem, a first visit for us but as expected great standard of staff, ambience and food.

Good service,friendly staff, plenty of food choices at reasonable prices . Liked the mugs on hand by the coffee machines so you didn't have to go back to the bar for a new one. Could do this in other branches.

Really disappointed with our last visit here. We ordered drinks that never arrived, had to chase up... Staff hanging around in bar area doing nothing and then realised a long list of drinks to sort out. Other people also hanging around asking where their drinks were. The adult pasta dish was about 7 mouthfuls, disgraceful for price paid. We were sat there for a good few hours regularly ordering stuff, spending money and minding our own business and then a waitress came over and said we had to leave now as we had a child. We'd barely finished our food. When I left I complained about it and was told it's to do with the local police rules?!! Hopefully will be better when we visit next year.

So always had the same thing of chicken wings and have always been able to swap the blue cheese dip for an extra hot sauce. In fact was allowed to do it last week. Then get told I can’t do that and it’s been that way for years. So lied to! Then get told there isn’t any hot sauce anyway. Which was a surprise when my food came out and there was hot sauce! Great customer service!!!!

Always like pop by this pub, they are always welcoming and helpful. I used to bring service users here for food, and they were amazing staff. I got say best apple crumble I tasted 😋 and worth the trip. Parking close by .though it luck of draw as can be busy. Other food has been good here, too. It can get busy here but always manage to find a table. Locals are welcome bunch .so feel right at home. Good energy .

Ordered lasagne, but not told run out of salad so given chips instead. Could have been hotter. Other meal was burger which was ok. First time in there, not much atmosphere.

Large Spoons on split level site. Pay and display car park immediately opposite
