The Castle Inn in Monmouthshire

Had steak and ribs here. Probably the loveliest chef we've met who came out to several times to various tables to check if the food was ok. Sunny garden at the back as well :)

Great option to have hot coffee and cake

This is more of an appreciation post for the staff mainly the chef I was on my way home from work this evening about 11:45 pm 18/06/22 and happened to see a gent lying on the floor outside of the green dragon as a first aider I stopped to check everything was ok and met the wonderful chef who very nicely helped me get this lovely gent home saftely what a lovely person to have in the community I would love to buy this chef a drink as I could not have done it tonight without his help and a happy birthday to him aswell I'm a bit embarrassed to admit I have forgotten his name as I am writing this after having a long day at work and with it being so late but I would love to show my appreciation to him kind regard joshua baker

Tasty local food very nicely cooked and Butty Bach on tap. Very nice atmosphere and friendly staff.

What a lovely friendly pub. Welcoming friendly staff, dog friendly with treats and a blanket for our dog to sit on. Great food, couldn’t do enough to cater for gluten free, they make their own gf batter, so my husband enjoyed a lovely fish and chip supper, vegetarian friendly too, all freshly cooked food. Thank you to all the staff for a lovely meal hopefully we can visit again before our holiday is over.

Visited Wednesday for the steak night - nice seat by the window. My wife upgraded to the sirloin and I had the standard rump. Bottle of wine went down well and so did the food. Managed to eat dessert as well. Couldn't fault it - good service and nice atmosphere. Thanks guys.

Lovely atmosphere, food was stunning and the service was 1st class. Will definitely return here next time I am in the area. Well worth a visit

Love the cosy atmosphere of this little pub.Helpful staff and a good selection of drinks. The food always smells good and tastes good.Good food is always worth the wait, that way you know it’s fresh and not precooked and reheatedHighly recommend a visit

Had a lovely lunch here today. The pizza toasties with chips was delicious and very well priced. The service was amazing, the staff entertained the baby whilst we ate. Atmosphere lovely and toilets very clean. Will be back
