"The Foxhunter Bar is named after the champion show jumping horse 'Foxhunter' who was ridden by jockey Sir Harry Llewellyn. In the bar, you will find several pictures of them both and we have even named our Angel Ale 'Sir Harry' in honour of the pair. The premier den for Abergavenny locals, you will find regulars and visitors enjoying the bar's old world feel with a modern twist - and a blend of contemporary art. There are local ales and ciders on offer and for the more adventurous, the cocktail menu features both classic cocktails and Angel originals - The Hendricks, Manhattan and Cosmopolitan to name but a few. The Foxhunter Bar provides comfortable, stylish surroundings which you will want to revisit again and again."

If you are looking for a beautiful family run pub then look no further than the Foxhunter. Nice enough pub grub but the service far exceeds that of most places. Andy behind the bar was incredible and the owners are very happy to interact with the customers. Will definitely come again!

We always enjoy visiting the Angel whenever we are in Abergavenny and the extremely talented bar man, Mo, makes the best gin and tonics possible.

Weird environment and massively overpriced. I had the vegetarian curry which was a pretty small portion consisting of 3 bits of aubergine and 4 bits of butternut squash... for £14!! I’ve never written a restaurant review before but felt I had to after leaving hungry and feeling ripped off. 0/5

Always very relaxing for all, including our beloved dog! - We love feeling accepted there as a group and genuinely enjoy whiling away an hour or two on a Sunday afternoon or weekday evening.

Feels a bit confused as to if they’re trying to be a homely pub, a posh restaurant or an edgy bar. Veggie option was very overpriced (veggie curry same price as pheasant pie?!)
