Copper Penny in Neath Port Talbot

We just love this place. It's our 1st choice for Sunday lunch and this year we took my mum there for her birthday. We've also done Christmas lunch last year because we love it so much. Such a warm welcoming atmosphere and the team are fantastic! I was unable to make Christmas lunch as I'd been discharged from hospital on Christmas eve but they let my husband bring my dinner home in takeaway boxes which I thought was lovely 💖. We always recommend it to everyone.. its just fab !

First time eating here. Lovely welcome, we were greeted as soon as we walked in. Clean and tidy. Food prices were reasonable, however paid more than I normally do for a pint of larger. Food was served quickly after ordering. We had 1 mixed grill and 1 sirloin steak. They don't serve the food on sizzle plates either, which we were pleased about, sizzle plates keep cooking your meat at the table! We like our steaks medium rare! Altogether a lovely meal out. We'll definitely be going back to try the carvery, it looked lovely.

I have an allergy to garlic and when I told the barmaid this she went into the kitchen to ask the chef if there was garlic in any of the food I had ordered. She returned and told me what had garlic in. She wrote on my carvery slip that I had an allergy to garlic. All in all the staff from the manager down to Jasmine,who served me, were absolutely excellent. The food I had was excellent as well.

I booked online and needed to phone to added ppl on and all was sorted and great.Staff there was extremely welcoming and helpful. Food was stunning, everyone really enjoyed their meal and dessert. Cannot fault it at all, already thinking of booking again for next week 👍

Lovely food, I had Hunters Chicken and my partner had regular carvery. Both were lovely

Good service, we were waiting a while for the little ones food but it wasn’t too bad. The food was nice but they are a bit tight on the meat and the gravy was very watery. But for the price it wasn’t too bad.

Having watched Alex grow and take control, I can honestly say it now very probably offers the best customer service since Dave Evans , many many years ago.She clearly has the capabilities, the customer awareness, and skills that will take her far in the business. I genuinely wish her well, because she will clearly succeed in this business. Many thanks

We have lived in Port Talbot a few years now, and have avoided this pub when it was known as the copper penny, as it had a pretty poor reputation. My wife decided it was time to give it go, based on the pretty good reviews the place had, my expectations were high. As carverys go it's been many years since we have found a good one. Unfortunately that trend hasn't be broken here. While hot, the food lacked much flavour, the meat on offer was small and not very generous, the veg plentiful but either overcooked or underdone. The food wasn't inedible its was just bland. If your looking to eat out on a budget and are not fussy, it's probably a great place. The beer was cold and of good quality so no grumbles there. We will probably go back and try a different offering from the menu, perhaps that may be better, but on this occasion we were disappointed.

Very nice staff, they forgot the vegetarian carvery and had to be reminded but when it came out my sister said it was very nice. The roast potatoes were a little dissapointing but everything else on the carvery was lovely.
