David Protheroe in Neath Port Talbot

Always had a good meal .Great vaule for money. But the blond bar guy shows no interest in is job just shocking. Lazy needs retraining not fair on the rest of staff who has to pick up after him.

Wonderful staff, let down by dated décor. Could do with sprucing up! Good range of drinks at good prices. Typical 'Spoons'!

Went in a group of 5 for food, my food (a chicken strip basket) took 45 minutes to arrive when the rest of the groups turned up in 10 including a mixed gril, when we complained to staff that we were missing a meal, it took 3 staff members to be told for them to even ask what we were waiting on to then be told that they thought that we had all our food. When my food eventually arrived, the plate was warm but my food was stone cold as if they had just put it in the microwave and wasn’t even offered a new meal when staff were told that it was cold. Ended up having to go elsewhere to get food which was an inconvenience as I wasn’t able to have food with my group and was on a time constraint anyway. Really disappointed as I go to this Wetherspoons a lot and really enjoy it but after this I’m not rushing back.

Had to leave a review as it's the best food I've had in a spoons! We all thoroughly enjoyed the food on our visit, better than some places I've been paying almost double the price.

Absolutely disgraceful attitude on their bar staff who mock customers! If you’re not tall and blonde don’t count on being served. Absolutely disgusting. Sort it out! 😡

Lovely place to meet up. Polite staff and clean.Disabled Toilet was not nice. It was the only let down.If someone could so a regular check and clean.

Ordered chicken strips and chips on arrival the chicken was cold. Had to go to the bar to complain. They came and got food but must have microwaved chicken and brought back out as chips were cold. I definitely won't be eating in there again.

Absolutely shocking bar service!! Waited FIFTEEN minutes to get served. On a Saturday night they had just three people serving, all of which seemed intent on getting the drinks for people who had scanned the QR code on their table and couldn't seem to care less for people waiting at the bar. It was like we were an inconvenience. If someone is waiting at the bar and an order then comes through from scanning the QR code why should that take precedence? They simply walk past you like you weren't there.The manager is totally inept and successfully alienates customers, go elsewhere, there's far better service in Neath.On top of that, when they could be bothered to serve customers at the bar none of them had a clue who was next. It was down to the politeness of the customers to advise who was next which should never have to be the case. Totally inept staff who seriously need to be trained in the art of being good bar staff, they successfully make Wetherspoons a completely negative experience.

I love a cheap and cheerful visit to any Wetherspoons and I've been to The David Protheroe multiple times over the years. This particular visit wasn't the best. We ordered at the bar and got given literally no interaction from the bar staff. No hello. No thank you. No confirmation of payment. I tapped to pay contactless and the bar tender just turned away and carried on serving silently.
