Jasmine Rice in Newport

Sorry to say, because we've been ordering there for years and found them very good, but they've been appalling lately. Loads of missed items, wrong items, that kind of thing but we've taken it in good humour out of loyalty, sometimes not even mentioning it. But the other day they sent out duck with mushrooms instead of duck in plum sauce, and when we phoned to ask for the right item, the lady rudely insisted that they'd sent duck with plum sauce. I felt like I was through to a lunatic asylum, I'm sat there looking at this duck with mushrooms and she's saying "No! That's right! Duck with plum!" And I'm saying "but it's NOT duck with plum, there is no plum, only mushrooms" She wouldn't accept it. So I had to say "Well okay then. We will never order from you again." And we won't. Terrible way to treat loyal customers.

More like Jasmine Nice, as far as oriental food god's it's at the top of my list.

Sorry to say despite reviews the food we received was well below expectation. Chips were hard and looked like cheap frozen chips Curry sauce was watery and rice dish and chow mein dish were both really bland and squishy soft. Certainly not worth the price and lady at till wasnt very friendly either. Wouldn't recommend and wont be going back.

There food is always lovely and freshly cooked for u wen u order. And always nice and hot, even there drinks r really cold and ready to drink. This take away gets full marks off me for everything, food, freshness, hot and just well worth the longer wait, while thay cook it wen u order it..

Tried the salt and pepper chicken for the first time, it was delicious!

My husband and I are new residents to Newport, and haven’t had a nice Chinese meal since leaving Canada. We read the reviews for Jasmine Rice and decided to give it a try. I am not exaggerating when I say, the food from this restaurant was absolutely amazing! We ordered a few dishes to share between us and we still had some leftovers for Sunday lunch. Along with substantial portions, the sauces were not overly sweet but very well seasoned with just a nice tang that compliments the chicken, or beef. We will definitely return to Jasmine Rice for delivery and look forward to eating in the restaurant when COVID-19 restrictions are eased.Thank you for a delicious meal and a lovely first experience!CheersD & L

Love this place. Chinese is not my first choice of takeaway, however, the chow mein is stunning. I won't have one from anywhere else but here. Huge hit in our house 😊

Good size portions - chicken balls were huge and both the barbecue and sweet & sour sauces were delicious.Dodging the smack heads lingering outside the shop got a bit dicey but the food was worth the risk 😍

First time order for NYE delivery. Expected it to be late, if anything, however it was half an hour early. Meal was delicious - will definitely order again!

I have been searching for a nice Chinese for ages as the one i used to visit changed it sauce and it became to spicy and the chow main became greasy. This is a very reasonable priced place and i can see its cultural history plays a large part in the taste. Not sloppy, chicken balls was as advertised on picture wall and the rice and chips cooked perfect. Added bonus of free crackers and spring rolls, rolls were a little to battered but what can i say, free.I like to stick to the same menu i know what we like but i will visit again and try various other menu choices.Very happy we googled you and read the reviews which do complain about delivery, i wanted to visit the place and see for myself, outside building is deceiving but clean inside, prompt processional service and really nice food cooked with 15 minutes. We will be returning. Thank you
