Parc-Y-Prior Inn in Newport

Great food, friendly staff, a busy service but we expected that on match day. Decent amount of parking and easy to find. Overall - a good visit.

Roast chicken dinner. The chicken lumps were microwaved or seems so. The ample lot of carrots were RAW and the rest was just awful apart from 1 roast potato,. Never going back again, very disappointed as it supposed to have been a treat

First, when we arrive we were given the worst seat in the building even though the place had plenty of seats available. When i asked if it would be possible to move i was told no because they were fully booked which would’ve been understandable if there were people in the other seats. Might i just add that all through the rest of the time we visited, these seats were never occupied so it could’ve been possible to move us. Secondly, when i went up to order i was told i was to be the last order as the kitchen was due to close. At no point were we warned of this so if i hadn’t gone up to order when i did we wouldn’t have been able to have food. Finally, when sat waiting for my boyfriend to return from the toilet one of the waitresses took our plates without even asking if we were finished to a point where i had to tell her to leave his plate as he was still eating. Overall, the food wasn’t anything great, our plates were too small to even eat off-when trying to cut anything on our plates the food would fall off the side because they were over crowded, the service was satisfactory at best-not once were we checked on and working in a restaurant myself i know how hard serving through busy periods can be but the employees attitudes weren’t great at any point of our visit.

Really enjoyed our food. Nice family pub. Good location with free car parking to the front of the building.

Seated immediately even though they were busy, ordered food and it didn't take long to arrive at the table. The food itself was nice, however, I don't know if it was because they were busy, but, the food was just warm. We will eat there again because like I said they were busy and it may have been because of that, that my food wasn't hot. I will say that the staff are friendly and polite which goes a long way in my book. All in all, a nice visit. Go and try for yourself.

We go at least twice a month and find food stunning and service amazing especially Lana who always takes the time to check in on us even if she isn’t our server. staff are a credit to the company can’t thank them enough for the amazing service that they provideVisiting family always want to go there for food when visiting as well

Great restaurant! The challenge meals are always delicious and the food is always fast. Only issue is the parking can sometimes be abit of a pain, the car park seems to be pretty popular, so is mostly always nearly full. I would 100% recommend coming here and giving it a try if you have never been.

Fantastic meal last night. Staff are very friendly and helpful - even under pressure on a busy Saturday night! Great menu and great value. Was one issue with one meal which staff quickly attempted to resolve but refunded individual meal without hesitation when not able to resolve. Because of that I would still rate 5 stars!

Brilliant lunch out today with family. Staff were brilliant and so friendly and helpful. The food was very good! Would definitely recommend this pub to anyone!! We will definitely be returning.

Lovely meal this Sunday afternoon. Very quiet, prompt service, good prices.
