Ridgeway Bar & Kitchen in Newport

My partner took me there for a evening meal as ive never been before .place looked nice and busy but we waited over an hour for our meal. When we asked if the chips were triple cooked we were told yes definatly but they were thick cut frozen ones which were dry. Steak was fine but chips spoilt the meal. We ordered the cheese board to have with a glass of port. It arrived with out any grapes when we asked where they were we were told they had run out. Well if i was working there i would have told the customer before serving them.Evening was a complete let down. Price was way over the top.we complained and was told we should of complained before we paid the bill. After talkingg to the manager she gave a partical refund for the cheese board.i for one will not be returning.

I have been here a few times now and the food is beautiful. The staff are friendly and polite and the restaurant is very clean. Definitely will be booking in for another Sunday lunch in the near future

Fantastic lunch today..Starter's leek and potato soup was lovely. I had salmon. A friend had burgers which were lovely and the salad looked fab.

Went there last Friday afternoon with family and friends. The afternoon tea was not cheap, but amazing value as every morsel of food was of the highest quality. The ham, the small pork pies, the scones, cakes, flans were all delicious. Excellent customer service too. Thank you.

Was recommended to go there a meal was disappointed food was standard and service dreadful. Waitress spilt a tray full of drinks over my daughter with just a sorry. The manageress was nice but very disappointed especially being my daughters birthday and wanted nice food..

Stunning meal as always, lovely atmosphere, service excellent, won't go anywhere else.

Only went for a couple of drinks but nice atmosphere, dog friendly and a good selection of beers. Staff friendly and efficient.

I would like to thank the excellent staff at the Ridgeway last night. Originally there were 12 of us , however due to unforseen circumstances only 8 of us could make it. The food was delicious and the service was first class. I would like to give a special mention to Tesney who was fantastic, incredibly helpful and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble for her what a star she is!! Also I would like to thank Alice who was also extremely helpful every time I appeared to amend the booking.Bravo Ridgeway and thank you very much for a lovely evening last night. Moira M Mainwaring.

Great place to watch the match. Great Covid layout, able to book table, good spacing between tables, friendly efficient staff, great curry at half time, but a poor choice of non alcoholic drinks. Sour cherry berry cider not to my taste for more than one drink.First time here, very impressed overall, great surroundings, clean, tidy, modern, dog friendly ... I will be back 🤓
