Have not eaten at The Stonehouse for some years due to a previous bad experience. However I must say Wow! Food was amazing. Fresh, hot and served in good time. I was also able to tweak what I had so it fitted in with my diet regime. Staff were all very friendly and attentive. Had such a good experience I’ve been here twice in one week! I’ll be back very soon. Nice to have a decent pub with good quality and very reasonably priced food. Thank you 😁

Visited on Sunday 12th June 22, the restaurant had a party of 15 fussy people in. Everything done was moaned about. Just because they could not sit where they wanted. Moaning they wanted the top part of the restaurant. Where people were already sat eating. The bar staff were professional and treated every1 with respect. Obviously strained by the party of people constantly moaning. The bar staff and manager made sure our table was happy with our order and made us feel welcome. The food was excellent and tasted fresh. Beer was cold and the service was spot on.Definitely be returning as this is now my sons new favourite place to eat..Thanks for the great service

From the outside car park, the pub didn't look that welcoming but when we went inside we had a pleasant surprise. The decor was very up to date and a lovely warm atmosphere. The staff were very welcoming and our meal was delicious. We had the curry. We didn't have to wait too long either. We were staying locally for a few days and would certainly recommend it.

Started coming here after work with a friend once a month, for about 8 months now, and I can honestly say the food has and service has always been lovely. They had to cancel our booking once due to a kitchen issue, but when it was fixed they called and we went back there. We left it late once to book and ended up going to the dragonfly not a patch on the stonehouse, sorry drago fly. The new menu is absolutely 💯. Thank you ladies for a very welcoming atmosphere and lovely food.

This was our second visit. Great staff very accommodating as we went with work. A lady with Autism likes a quieter area/place. Lovely food. We went for the three course menu but they had a new menu so had to jiggle a bit for the lady. Clean and pleasant atmosphere.

This pub is a real find! I had excellent service from the lady manager(I forget her name lol). I was seated quickly even though I hadn’t booked. The food was served very promptly and was hot as well as being excellent value for money. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this pub to any potential customers!

Staff very friendly and polite, but unfortunately the food leaves a lot to be desired! My father in law had a steak that was inedible. This was replaced, however the replacement wasn't much better. I had a mixed grill. Once again the steak was inedible (it was changed), the gammon was overcooked and dry. The sausages were burnt on the outside but undercooked in the middle. My family and I will not eat here again.

Caught up here with a mate as halfway between houses and we got a great welcome from friendly bar staff. The manager is really nice and we had a nice chat. I had a salad with grilled chicken on top and it was delicious, genuinely! I can't recommend the stone house enough

Visiting someone in Newport on Sunday so decided to call in to a place I used to frequent after work, The Stonehouse in Duffryn. It was quite early , just after 12 so wasn't that busy. We were asked if we had booked a table, which we hadn't , and were shown to a lovely table in the corner tucked away.Even though there were Menus on the table for us to order at the bar, it was possible to order from the Sizzler website.Sat down for 10 minutes and I decided on the Mixed Grill and my wife ordered the Rib, Chicken Combo. I ordered the food at the bar and also ordered our drinks ,a Pint of Thatchers (best I have had), and my wife ordered a Zinfandel, unfortunately for her too sweet but it was palatable.Waited for a good 20 minutes, which wasn't too long, and we both heard our food before we saw our plates.Sizzling away were two dishes of perfection, mine a mixed grill on top of onions sizzling away, with a breast of chicken, rump steak, medium rare, perfectly done, gammon, sausage, tomato, perfect cooked egg and chips in a bowl.My wife's verdict of the best meal she has had out confirmed the quality of the food, her only gripe which was minor was the amount of onions served under the food.A lovely 2 hours had and we left contented all roundWell Done Stonehouse for your food and your staff who were very attentive
