Excellent venue for a meal. Wonderful staff and very good food. Extremely useful as a break on journey as just off M4 near Newport and also when visiting Tredegar House. Would highly recommend!

Quick pop in to this pub/restaurant. Salt n pepper calamari when first received was cold so sent back. Returned with double the portion but unfortunately neither condiment expressed in the title of the dish had been used. Bland is an understatement. Main course of Salmon, new potatoes and vine tomatoes was average and didn’t exactly light up my culinary tastebuds. Overall very average. Everything just needs to be seasoned better in my opinion.Update-following a slight disagreement re the bill am please to say a discount was applied to my satisfaction. Hope my comments will be taken on board and look forward to returning and notice the significant improvements.

It looks great, nice atmosphere & friendly staff. If your looking for a £5 half glass of wine & a £15 burger then this is the pub for you. Remember to register your vehicle's registration or you will be given a fixed penalty, which will arrive in the post later.

Wow! This is such a great restaurant, mainly because of the good food and it’s high quality. But also the decoration and atmosphere makes it very comfortable and perfekt for dinners with friends or an romantic date. It’s also nice to have just drinks on the bar. The interior and the light makes it a place where you want to stay. The staff is very polite and friendly! The food comes in the perfect timing also if you order a Menue. I definitely want to recommend this special place to others. I went here already several times because I like it so much.

Lovely pub, friendly and attentive staff but the food was a hit and miss. Starters were delicious and fresh. Burgers look great. Beef bourginon and vegetables looked like it had been kept warm for hours.

This used to be a regular venue for us, but it has gone downhill fast. Service with a smile is still there - but then it is just poor.Camembert bites were more fresh-air bites. A complete lack of cheese!Lamb koftas cups have been any meat - masked by a small forest of leaves.Sirloin steak were very fatty.Sweet potato fries Han probably been cooked multiple times as they came out black - not the actual colour of their produce.Fish cakes were lacking in flavour.Long wait between courses.Menu was very scaled back - excuses of availability of certain items it just rubbish as I can go into any supermarket and get them today. Will now take this place off my list of eateries - sorry to say.

Very nice meal. Waiter was helpful and jolly. Gluten free options for all courses. Very busy in the restaurant. Haven't been for a few years, would recommend and return myself.

*Edit after response from the pub.The dragonfly has seen fit to deliver a non apology below blaming me and in the effort other customers for not using their parking system correctly. For the record I put the correct licence plate number into the system when I entered (the waiter wouldn’t seat me until I did) and I received a confirmation screen to that effect. I’ve still been fined, the system wasn’t working correctly. Luckily I have proof I was there. The management at The Dragonfly are more concerned with empty platitudes than making sure customers aren’t ripped off, so I’d just avoid it in general.*Dragonfly is a really nice pub. Good food, friendly staff and fast service. However they have implemented a parking system administered by Euro Car Parks and despite using the mandatory electronic registration system I’ve still been fined £85 for parking at the establishment I was eating at.I have a paper trail for my visit so I’m appealing the fine but a financial threat for 3 times the value of my meal and an hour spent filling out the appeal form is really worth the trip.Again, lovely pub but I wouldn’t drive there while they have the current system in place.
