The Lighthouse Inn in Newport

Cracking pub, camper van and dog friendly-we stopped off overnight and were welcomed by the staff really warmly.The food is great and locals are nice too..definitely coming back.The overnight camping ticket is genius and refreshing nowadays with limited stopovers.A minutes walk to the beach too.Great job Lighthouse!!

Very welcoming staff. Good selection of drinks, nice layout and dog friendly. Car park is currently being refurbished. Right next to the sea wall where you can walk for miles in either direction along the coast. Interesting area, very different landscape to most of Wales.

A bit scruffy looking but the lovely landlady and great food certainly makes up for it. Made to feel very welcome and our dog too. Relaxed atmosphere and lovely food, with access to the estuary meters from the front door. We stayed in our motorhome in the carpark, which was bonus.

Such a lovely place, ideal stopover and good breakfast too! Be perfect when car park completed, will be back and sample the ale next time. Thank you all.

Great place for park up and a very warm and friendly welcome from pub staff. A 2 min walk puts you on the beach coast walk a little muddy owing to lots of rain. Pay and display parking but Pub and café give out tickets park for free no restrictions..

Looking very shabby and carpark is roughly surfaced. Although parking fee can be claimed back from food bill.Signs everywhere around footpath and carpark telling what you mustn't do :-(Welcome at cafe was nice and effusive.Pub might look better in the summer. We Didn't enter on this occasion.

Can't fault it - free overnight campervan pitch if you eat at the pub. Plenty of space in the car park. A simple menu with popular choices. The food was delicious and not at all overpriced. Everyone working at the pub was incredibly friendly and helpful too.

A warm welcome, serving the best chips ever! Totally dog friendly. Highly recommended after a brisk walk on the sea wall.

Great overnight stay here with excellent food in the pub. Owners couldn't be any more helpful and the large car park is ideal for a stopover.

Oh my goodness I have just eaten the biggest Sunday roast, the young man Dave behind the bar reckons his mum thinks we all need feeding up, by the size of the portion this would be true.Lovely, friendly and helpful.Dog friendly which as you know is essential for those if us with four legged family members, brilliant Thank you x
