The Usk Vale in Newport

Lovely staff but food was a big disappointment. Packet meet not what was on the menu roasted potatoes was so burnt couldn't cut them. Yorkshire pudding was over cooked & dry uneditable 😟

Food was good and staff were nice i would definitely recommend it.

Lovely Sunday lunch and great friendly service. Thank you!! Booked again whilst there for another Sunday roast next week. There is a park just past the car park keeps the children busy.

Absolutely lovely little place and it's gets a rare 5 STARS from myself and I'm sure from my family too. The food was excellent, all homecooked and not a microwave in sight, the staff were all super friendly and the service was great. The food took around 10-15 mins to arrive after ordering. My family went for the roast dinner with different meats, (which they all said was delicious and well cooked, I however went against the grain and went for the scampi and chips which, I have to say I don't normally do on a Sunday but I'm glad I did as it was one of the best I've had, the chips were also homemade, NOT frozen, hallelujah, a chef that can be bothered to peel a few spuds. You might say it's only a chip but that's a hard thing to get right. As a chef myself, I know what I'm looking for and It's simple food but that's often the best when done really well, as it was here. The price was more than fair too, considering how much meat we all had. Then there was the desert, we all went (6 of us) with the exception of 1, for the flake cheesecake which again, was to die for, the odd one out went for chocolate cake a custard which she said was one of the best. I have to say though, super well done to the care, love and and attention this chef and his team put into that food, what a guy. If it wasn't for my Great Uncle saying about this place we'd never have known it was there as its off the beaten path, but I'd highly recommend this place although I want to be a little selfish and save it just for myself, lol. It's a long review as it deserves it and it's not often I give 5 STARS! Well done, we'll definitely be back for years to come. Unfortunately, I was too busy eating this lovely food to take photos but I will the next time were there, which'll be very soon I'm sure.

Good food, good beers, have to reserve a table but hey ho its worth it!! Would recommend for pub food!!

Good wholesome food prepared in their own kitchens at really affordable prices - plenty of parking space - they still have a working mens bar, a family bar and a function room! Keen to please and have always left as a satisfied customer!

Staff were really friendly and food was fab. Reasonably priced. Steak was cooked nicely, as were the accompanying vegetables. Will be back :)

The restaurant is a bit plain but the food was excellent two courses £10.95 three£14.90. good quality, good portion sizes I had 4 lamb cutlets in minted gravy fantastic. We are going back.

Really tasty Sunday lunch the meat is melting good. The deserts are always good and the selection is changed regularly The staff are always welcoming and and are very quick to to get you anything you need. To top it all off it is very budget friendly
