Toby Carvery Coldra in Newport

Really good. Good choice of meat . Great choice of perfectly cooked vegetables not under or over cooked . Lovely tasting gravy and a good portion of a jam sponge & custard. Sponge was not at all stodgy but would have liked a little more custard . It's difficult to find good traditional English food in Canada so we hope to visit again before we have to return .😊 Also catered for Gluten free requests.👍

Friendly staff, nice pub, adequate food with a nice selection. Unfortunetly the meat was fatty and the food was mild in warmth. Had the feel it had be there awhile. However I have been here and the food been lovely so it seems to be a hit and miss when you arrive.

Wish I could give zero stars!! Visited today, beef was fatty and unedible. Veg had been there so long it was dried out and cold. Gravy was like jelly and also cold. The floor by the carvery was filthy! The place was empty, so no excuse for it being a mess really. Tried to complain to staff along with 2 other people but staff just disinterested. Customer service awful! Came home and complained to be sent a standard 'we're sorry response!' Will not be returning.

Great meal, fast efficient service with drinks. All staff were friendly and attentive. Food was great, and excellent value due to the discount email I’d previously received

It's gone a little down hill but it is what it is. Toilets are vile. Can't even shut the doors, my daughter had an adults meal and only got 1 slice of meat and the mac n cheese was hard it was that dry, more was brought out later on but queues were a bit big by then. Food was nice otherwise though. And staff tried their best while it was so busy

Boxing day meal was lovely. Staff friendly and efficient as always. Able to go with friends and enjoy their company, without having to cook. Definitely going to do this next year

After being shown to our table we received no help from the server. We had to order the vegan meal thro' the manager. The meat was dry and very uninspiring and the vegetables were not exceptional. The vegan meal was very nice. No drinks as the server didn't bother to come to take the order. All in all a meal and service that I'd prefer to forget and never again will I go back there again.

What an incredible spontaneous visit to this particular Toby Carvery. For a small family of three, who like to eat out quite a lot, we can all agree that the service was impeccable and the food was superb. It quite honestly was the best roast dinner I've eaten in years! Lindy, our very young daughter who likes to interact with everyone, felt so comfortable around the waitress' and chefs as they were amusing her whilst doing their job so well. Maz (Marion), Leanne and Nathan, you all went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing visit. You delivered smiles and charisma throughout. We really won't forget this visit, thank you so much. As we live more than forty miles away, visiting again could be seen as slim but we definitely wouldn't say no to the chance!

Service here was excellent as well as the food. Really well priced and the staff very accommodating. Booked in advance and the process was really straightforward. An excellent carvery meal and we could self serve the veg instead of having staff do it for you which is different than other places I've been to recently.
