We Love Vacara's Fish & Chip Shop! in Newport

Me and my granddaughter visit this fish shop every Saturday, my granddaughter is very fussy about her chips and this is the only fish shop she will eat at and i have to be honest the food there is great and good value for your money the staff are always very helpful and friendly and the service is good as well i myself have never had any problems

My friend hqve been going there for over 20 years & said its the best fish & chip she's ever had anywhere

If I could score zero I would. Poor service, gent behind the counter mimicking my young son who's on the spectrum when told to stop by his colleague hes met with the reply of thats the point. Safe to say I didn't get my food.

Walked out when I witnessed staff bullying a mother with an upset child which I later found out is awaiting an Autism Review. Disgusted by this as I have 2 sons on the spectrum.

Rudest staff I've ever come across, left without even purchasing anything, will not be returning due to lack of customer service

Worst chipshop experience ive ever had! The people serving were pleasant,but the food was awful and very overpriced.

Just left after having the best Cod, Chips and Curry sauce I have ever had!!!My husband had Two large Sausages in Batter with chips and Beans, he said many times throughout his food that it's the best he has had in a long time ( apart from my cooking at home )The Batter on the Cod was a wonderful mix of crispy and soft with a rich flavour of fish, I had a large middle and was told " the middles do have a lot of bones in them " in total I found 8 little bones in it!The Cod itself was flaky and juicy, perfectly cooked, pure white in colour!I was a little ashamed to add Curry sauce to it.....The staff were so friendly and polite, smiles on there faces, seemed genuinely interested in how you were doing today!!If I could rate them out of 10 I would give them 10/10!!!

Last time I ate in here was with my mum, as a treat, wen I was a nipper. So 40yrs later I'm in ther with my wife and the quality of food and service was just as good! Fish n chips, bread n butter and a mug of tea 🍵 Vacara's is part of the fabric of Newport and long may it last.

Basic Chippy. Fresh and tasty fish. Chips were crispy outside fluffy inside. Good portion. Staff aren't cheerful, fast and professional though. Cramped and outdated restaurant inside but It's very nice to sit on the benches outside if the weather is amazing
