Big Sam's in Rhondda Cynon Taf

I overheard an older lady managing two younger employees (not sure if this lady was the manager or not) and speaking to them with unappreciation and disrespect. Made me feel a little uncomfortable. Obviously I don't know the situation, but a little bit of kindness goes a long way, and these two girls were more than happy to serve and help me. Other than that food was okay.

This shop states that they close at 11pm, I turned up at 10pm and I was met with lady who stated that all the machinery was turned off for the day (so that meant no fish & chips, no pizza etc) - just buy whatever is left in the counter. Why advertise that you're open till 11pm when your staff are so keen to shut up shop at 10pm? Awful experience.

If i could rate it zero i certainly would absolute shocking service been here many times was warned by my partner she refuses to eat there from a previous visit. Avoid at all cost gone down hill.

I had a meat feast pizza yesterday and i violently threw up all day today since 7 this morning!

Ordered a few kebabs from here lately not sure if they have changed the meat but they have all been lovely

Had cod and chips from Big Sam's on 8 August 2020 and have to say it was excellent. Loads of well cooked chips, really crispy batter and beautiful skinless/boneless fish. Can't wait for my next visit.

This is fairly local to me and so when I fancy a cheeky cheap takeaway, this is one of a few places I would be happy to go back to.As you might expect from a takeaway restaurant, they sell an excellent range of takeaway foods; fish, chips, southern fried chicken, burgers, pizzas, kebab... Etc.The food is always prepared freshly and priced competitively (on promotional days, it's insanely competitive!) and I've never had a bad meal from here.The staff are always friendly, polite and efficiently quick. As with a lot of these kinds of places, turnover of staff is frequent, but again, every time I've been here, they've been spot on.Coming back to an earlier point, promotional deals:Some of the deals they offer are proper nuts! For example, they offer buy one get one free on pizza at selected times. Not that extreme you may say but on a Tuesday, they offer an extra one which means you buy one pizza and then get TWO for free...Wait. What? I'm paying for one and you'll give me three?! Are you sure?! What was that?! Eh?! I had to ask the young lady serving me several times to make sure she wasn't going to get herself sacked, but yes, get your timing right and some of the meal deals they offer are outstanding and truly excellent value for money.In summary, a great little takeaway place that offers good food at a fair price. 👍

I love Sam's, yes you have to wait but the chips are fab, the kebabs are great. Portions are just right and sorry but you get what you pay for. Love it and great if you need a quick fix. Freshly cooked fish is a bonus. Ring ahead it gets busy.

Ordered our meal deal at 5.20pm tonight and I appreciate a Saturday is busy but our order didn't turn up until 7pm.when it did eventually arrive half the order was missing so rung the shop to ask if the chips and coleslaw could be redelivered and all the guy said was it would be out on the next delivery that passed our area which he didn't know when it would be so had no idea of how long it would take. Very unhelpful.

Have lived in Pontyclun for a while now and my family all of theirs, the chip shop has gone downhill for some time now and is now at an all time low. The food is below average at an above average price! Portions are bare and customer service is poor. Will be very pleased to see a new chip shop arriving in the village - they don't have much to compete with to be the high flyers here. Looking forwards to a decent local takeaway!
