I booked a table at the queens head Askham for Sunday lunch a very helpful receptionist by the name of Katie took my booking she was friendly and very efficient I was sent a confirmation e mail to say the booking was made. Our sunday lunch was delicious and beautifully presented we dined in the bar which was very tasteful and comfortable I would certainly return. The staff in the queens head were lovely. Five stars all round.

We stayed midweek for one night to enjoy the evening Posh Grubbers menu. From the minute we walked through the door Lucas looked after us. We were able to register and put the bags in the room, before 1pm. After our walk he served us really nice beer and then was the main man for the dinner service. The food was excellent, we ate every single bit, and would have it again. The room was very comfortable and had been recently refurbished to a very high standard, even the cookies on the tray were homemade. Breakfast was also very nice, certainly good enough to charge yourself for a day in the fells, and plenty of tea, coffee and orange juice. All in all, this is a great pub, in an idyllic Lakeland village - we will be back. A big thanks to Lucas, he was a great host. Geoff Durham City

Cosy pub, pleasant atmosphere and welcoming service. The food is excellent but for a premium, our preferred local option even if just for drinks.

We had a beautiful lunch at the Queen's Head. Really good value for money and attentive/ friendly staff. We'll be back

Lovely small plates (new years day) but spoilt by the waiter hovering to take our plates then give us the bill before we decided if we wanted another drink and then bringing the card machine for us to pay... OK guy's we're leaving!!Lovely place but not sure we'll be back!

We had an evening meal last night at this establishment. It was probably the best meal I have had. Truly wonderful. I can't recommend the Queen's Head highly enough for the ambience; service and amazing cuisine. Quality above and beyond usual gastropub dining.

An awesome pub find in the Lakes. We walked the Askham Fell Loop (and a bit further to see some brilliant views of Ullswater) & came back to the most incredible menu, the friendliest staff and delicious food. Beautifully presented and locally sourced too.Very child and dog friendly too - thank you

Relaxed, high end pub dining experience. Great menu, and excellent delivery of food, drinks (there are some good wines at reasonable prices). Good for families, and dog friendly.Highly recommend the chocolate pudding for dessert!

Pub with attached fine-ish dining area. The menu was inventive, locally inspired, and technically well executed. Plenty of attractive options in the menu. We enjoyed the fact that the portion sizes were not too large, leaving room for all the courses. 😊 We enjoyed the option to share an extra cheese course between us for £10. Super selection of wines by the glass, and bottles. The service was fine; the staff were all enthusiastic and willing, but a couple will benefit from more experience.
