Red Lion in Rhondda Cynon Taf

After a gap of many years I think the Red Lion has really blossomed into a lovely venue without losing any of its country pub character. On 2 visits I've enjoyed a very good lamb Sunday dinner where more of the delicious cauliflower cheese was happily provided on request and also a very excellent buffet. The staff are friendly and very polite and an issue was corrected on my first visit with no question. High running costs mean it's not cheap but it's definitely worth it - by far the best place locally in my opinion.

Lovely place, very dog friendly. Cracking pizza in the beer garden and the beer was beautifully kept. Worth making a trip for.Great service from the staff too. Highly recommended.

Cute place, best lamb I have ever had and the best service! The ciders are pretty awesome as well. Love it and will hope to be back again!

Enjoyed a fabulous lunch yesterday with friends. The pub itself is absolutely charming and spotless. Food was all cooked to order to a very high standard with excellent presentation. Staff were extremely efficient, friendly and helpful. Most definitely will be returning

Fantastic little pub with top notch food.My mate and I wondered up the hill following a visit to the Penderyn Distillery.. We basically set up camp in the Red Lion for the afternoon and booked a table for dinner that evening.The pub had a lovely atmosphere, roaring fire and nice selection of beers. We were both really impressed by the food too and not too bad price wise. Will definitely be visiting again if we are in the area.

We came upon the Red Lion completely by chance, having visited the distillery nearby and then doing a Google search for somewhere to eat. We arrived mid-service for Sunday lunch, with no reservation and a large dog in tow. They went out of their way to find a table for us, as long as we didn't mind waiting a little while. And boy, was the food worth waiting for! The starters and puddings on the menu sounded amazing, so we ended up eating a full 3 course Sunday lunch (well, we were on holiday!) which was every bit as good as it looked. We'd heartily recommend the Red Lion if you're in the Penderyn area, and we'll certainly be back if we're ever nearby again!

Absolute gem of a pub..... variety of real ales and mulled wines and ciders......great atmosphere and accommodating staff.....we walked the ramblers waterfall's route and returned to be met by a real log fire......we will return 👍❤️

Lovely place, and food was outstanding new favourite place to go. Had the beaujoulais menu. Pigeon to start, ox cheek for main and a chocolate delice for dessert..

Very nice place with an interesting menu. Appreciated the winter warmer and the pleasant staff. Food was great.

Dinner for two adults and two children. It was a wonderful meal with a creative menu and great wine list. Food was beautifully presented and delicious. The service was excellent, attentive and efficient. Portions were generous and tasty. Will be back.
