Had a wonderful meal but tables could have been wiped and the stickyness on the bar was concerning. Drinks were on the warm side HOWEVER food was wonderful and staff very welcoming. A few tweaks and more attention to detail and you'd get 5 stars, I suggest you give your front line staff more credit phenomenal service hint hint. To note again your beer is always on the warm side and often tastes unlike the product labelled. Is management the issue because your nearly there.

My daughter surprised us with a 2 night stay here. When we arrived after a very long journey we were very disappointed, the toilet seat was broken, there was a half used toilet roll left. The shower floor was wet. There was dust and dirt under the bed. It also looked like 2 single beds had been joined together as the quilt was not big enough for the bed!!!! The remote for the TV was missing, my husband was given a universal remote but that didn’t work either, eventually they found another remote. The next day we went out for the day, we thought the cleaners would be in later but disappointingly they had only emptied the bin in the bedroom. The bed hadn’t been made, the towels hadn’t been changed, nothing had been cleaned. We spoke to a lovely man called Jamie who wrote everything down and said the Main Manager would phone us but disappointingly no one phoned. My daughter had asked for a note to be left on the bed about out 25th Wedding Anniversary and was told this would be done but yet again was not!!

Really good place to stay! The staff there were so lovely and kind and made us feel at home. Was a lovely room and the shower was really high power (a must in this day and age) so we were chuffed.I'll be back again if ever in Cardiff! Thanks guys!

From the second I got to this gem of a place til I left, I received nothing but first class service from all the staff. The chef makes brilliant food and cooked my steak exactly how I asked! Which can be rare at times. The room I was in (6), was beautiful and spacious with a lovely view of the hills, there is also Bluetooth option in the mirror for a speaker which is pretty cool. I would highly recommend this place for anyone who either wants a few nights away, with great scenic areas to visit, or who just wants to pop in for some great food cooked by Martin. The bar has a nice selection of drinks, however I'd recommend some different Scottish whisky's as "Bells" is not a Scottish favourite 🤣. I can't wait to come back here and also was very happy to see the staff working extremely hard day and night to bring this place aesthetically to an even finer standard. The outdoor area at the front and back are currently undergoing renovations so I look forward to the end product! High quality food, very clean, attentive staff, lovely interior design in both restaurants and rooms and a good location for a Welsh retreat that is very well priced! I would pay more! Thank you all.

Excellent boutique hotel. Lively bar with very friendly and helpful staff. Unexpectedly well-decorated rooms. Slate-walked bathroom with waterfall shower and carved rock basin. Comfy beds, fast WiFi, coffeemaker. Perhaps a little more storage space?

We cam and had dinner with friends who were staying st the cardiff arms easter Saturday. They rated the room as fabulous. The dinner was fantastic and really good value for money. Heather was our server she was run off her feet but had a smile and a kind word and even thou she was super busy nothing was too much trouble. She is a asset to your team ! Great job

Was lovely deco and food was fab but what made it for us was our super lovely waitress Stephanie. She was so helpful and kind. Nothing was to much trouble for her 20/10 for service. What a lovely girl ☺️

Sadly a very disappointing first experience of this little place. It’s looks lovely and the waiting staff are friendly and do seem to care. The issues seem to be around stock and time. After a four hour journey to arrive at this place I was greeted by a very friendly member of staff who showed me to my room. After a brief rest and freshen up I headed down to the restaurant, firstly they were out of a number of items and the one I was after fish and chips, no problem I though, I will shift to a lighter meal and then grab a dessert. Food arrived Hummus and flatbread, both alright but not enough garlic for my taste with the hummus, and the sweet potato fries sadly soggy but no matter I thought dessert will fill the void.So at 20:45 up to the bar to select dessert, informed there is a cheesecake of the day, excites me. The barman went to check on what the flavour was, only to come and inform me that the kitchen is closing for the night, I challenged the timing, as the website clearly states 9pm, but to no avail.I am sure that this would have not been as big an issue had I been able to arrive earlier, but as a guest of the hotel, now left with the position of going out somewhere else to top up my grumbling stomach or just sleep it out and hope that breakfast doesn’t have the same issue. Sadly, for this I would not recommend.
