A restaurant like Beach House has to take itself seriously in order to receive and maintain its status and reviewers need to assess it on this basis. However please do not let my criticisms detract from our overall pleasure at spending our 35th anniversary at The Beach House. We had a lovely evening. The environment is superb (though we were very warm!) and the service was excellent. The ingredients were very fresh and the food was delicious. I also think the pricing is very fair. But did we have an outstanding gastronomic experience? I would have to say on that level it was an average one. For us, the only dish that was memorable and inspired was the lobster course. For the others they lacked surprise and too often I felt that the combinations didn't 'combine'. Sadly for me my main course (pork) was over-salty but my wife said her turbot was excellent. The anniversary greeting was a very nice touch and most appreciated. Finally is it not time to for Tasting Menus to be reconsidered by restaurants and diners alike? As an option they're fine but to only offer them is, IMHO, the thin edge of the wedge.

Excellent food, friendly service and a stunning location. I particularly enjoyed the laverbread as an introduction to Welsh food! Beach House made our time in The Gower very special.

What a wonderful surprise, to have a Christmas voucher for The Beach Restaurant! We have been avid ‘fans’ of The Great British Menu since 2020 and follow the talented chefs with hope and enthusiasm. Hywel was one of our favourite chefs we followed and to visit his restaurant was a fabulous opportunity to sample his fantastic menu.From the warm welcome at reception and from all staff, front of house, we cannot praise them enough in making us feel welcome and ensuring our visit was enjoyable.The food was out of this world. It looked amazing, delicate and tasted absolutely exceptional! Every mouthful was a taste sensation, flavours balancing with texture and acidity! Presentation of each dish was well thought out and executed!Our drink were delicious; the aperitif and wines were full of flavour and bouquet, again exceptional.The service was second to none. Staff members were ready to take our orders for food and drinks. They delivered food with detailed explanation of the dish.Overall we were very impressed with the quality of the food, drink, environment and staff. We will highly recommend and most certainly look forward to our return.A special thank you to staff for organising for us to meet Hywel. Such a genuine person who deserves the absolute best in the future.

A great place. We had the six course tasting menu, fairly expensive, but great value for money. It was for my wife's birthday and we both enjoyed it. Service and food impeccable. Recommended

Beautiful setting, lovely atmosphere and fantastic food. Attended the Great British Menu Event and the dining experience was one to remember, staff were all first class and head chef came out to explain the story behind the courses. Could not recommend highly enough, loved it.

A quite wonderful meal in a fantastic setting. A privilege to experience Hywel's entry to the "Great British Menu" on our latest visit, and pleased to say that every course was as delicious (if not more so) as we had anticipated. With a few words from Chef himself before each course to explain it's inspiration, and a few anecdotes thrown in for good measure, it was, as always, both a privilege and immense pleasure to dine at Beach House.

This was a special treat on our short break.We went for the tasting menu, which is a good way to try as much as possible! Of course with a place at this level the staff were attentive and very professional. Unfortunately we couldn't stretch to the float of wine to go with it, we'll save that for another visit.A lovely and memorable visit.
