The Buck Inn in Swansea

Excellent goat curry and chicken balti. Very good service and pleasant waitresses. Not expensive and variable menu, will return.

Our first visit to the Buck for a carvery meal for a while.Meal itself was OK, not allowed to self serve vegetables now. Swede and mashed potatoes served with ice cream scoop....reminded me of school meals. Parsnips were almost matchstick size and burnt. Cauliflower cheese very good! Plenty of gravy served in jugs to table.Dessert menu varied, I chose fruit crumble and custard....custard served in jug which wad sitting in the middle of the crumble Commented on it, especially as had a big blob of fruit crumble stuck to the bottom of the jug. Waitress apologetic.Probably won't rush back.

This is my second visit here after the first being very delightful. However this time around totally different story. Firstly food, this place insists on a carvery and Caribbean food pub although no carvery were being offered today. I went for the Tobago fried fish and what was offered was a battered fish with bland coleslaw, salad and dry chips nothing remotely exciting at all. Among my party various dishes including fish and chips, salmon, burger and chips, pasta and homemade pie and chips.. So also take note that all food is homemade and fresh albeit a bought in pie again bland, very boring indeed. Now onto staff. No initial greet from any member it was apparent we had to source the staff and find our booked table. Once we had found our seats staff then proceeded with normal duties. However as soon as we mentioned that our food wasn't the best we were then told that the chef is from the Caribbean (so no apology) and that the message will be passed on. After our complaint this then meant the staff could dip their standards and show us that they didn't care. All in all and apologies for my lengthy review that I wouldn't recommend going to a place they have no care for their food or custom.

Ah I used to always enjoy a carvery here so much. It would always be my first choice, and while I don't want to slate a hard working lovely pub their carvery has lost its flavour. I had one this week and was disappointed. Its a shame really because you get plenty if you want it and their other food is beautiful, I just wish they would put some taste and flavour back into their carvery.

Amazing food. One of the best curries I've ever eaten. My mother ate fish and chips so good there is a wide choice and cross section of tastes. Well worth a visit.

Not the greatest food. Mostly overcooked and sloppy. They undercharged me by £13 too, but even though the food was barely worth the cheaper price, I made sure I paid the correct amount. The last time I was there, was about 10 years ago and the food was good from memory, but I won't be rushing back there again. Another 10 years I guess.

We went for the carvery Sunday lunch and were a little disappointed. Most of the food was delicious, but the roast potatoes were unrecognisable as such. I would say they were old roasties which had been fried to reheat several times, resulting in there being no fluffiness on the inside and a hard crisp layer to the outside. The remaining veggies were perfect consistency, but being kept in hot water on the bain marie they were scooped out with a colander spoon. Unfortunately, no time was taken to drain the water deom said veggies, resulting in a lot of water getting onto the plate. The dessert was lovely. Freshly done, with just the right amount of custard served in a jug. The staff were very helpful and attentive, but not intrusive.

Couldn't thank The Buck enough, as they accommodated our party of 11 people (2 separate tables) for my son and daughter's birthdays. Food on the whole was tasty and plenty of it, but service was a bit slow (the pub was pretty full, so understandable) we were there for the best part of 3hrs and the little ones with us were getting a bit restless.Must say there was ample parking, plenty of COVID-19 guidance and the staff were attentive..

The most delicious place to eat. Food was fantastic some of the best flavours I have tasted. Excellent sized portions great value for money too. There is a huge variety of choices on the menu and the children's menu is very reasonable with great portions. The outdoor seating area is gorgeous with a designated smoking area and separate outside seating with covers. A quirky venue with stunning old features inside from the age of the pub. I will definitely be visiting again.

First time out with girls since lockdown decided on The Buck as we also wanted to go to a new bar near by. Service was absolutely outstanding, atmosphere fantastic food and drink good quality and cheap, Christina our waitress really looked after us. Left to spend the rest of evening at near by bar and service and vibe in the place was so poor we decided to go back to The Buck, so glad we did. What a lovely place. Thank you.
