Horse and Jockey in Torfaen

Lovely establishment to go to. Great atmosphere. The staff were welcoming and attentive. The menu had a varied selection of dishes. The food portions were generous, served hot and reasonably priced. Service was good. Worth a visit.

The staff was polite. I ordered the hunter chicken but not so good.The meat was dominated by barbeque sauce and I couldn't feel any taste except the sauce..The drinks were good though.

Absolutely amazing food tonight!! Couldn't fault any of it!! Steak was perfect, staff super friendly. Nothing was too much. We will definitely be back. We'll done to Sian and her team. Outstanding!!

Absolute shambles of a place. Not very nice food the one meal on our table (burger) was highly processed meat and inedible. When it came to payment the bar staff didn't have an understanding of the deposit system the restaurant put in place or understand the payment system. We have come away feeling hugely disappointed. Out of eight meals one meal was of a good standard, I will never eat here again.

We had our wedding reception here on 30th March and it was just brilliant. Sian and the team (particularly Joel who was outstanding) make our special day absolutely perfect. The food tasted great and was really nicely presented. They honestly could not do enough for us and everyone had a wonderful time. Would heartily recommend this place for any special occasion. The building has loads of character and was spotless clean and well maintained - gorgeous beer garden out the back with lovely views of the countryside. Give it a try, you won't regret it!

Sublime food, great service and nice surroundings

Had a beautiful Mother’s Day meal, lamb dinner and gravy was bang on! Staff were super friendly and helpful couldn’t do enough for us.Beautifully done up too :)

Outstanding food, excellent selection of beers, brilliant service, and lovely setting. Very welcoming staff who will make sure you're looked after. The Horse & Jockey has the great atmosphere and I'll definitely be back!

We travel long distances and eat out quite often but struggle to find a restaurant who can actually cook a steak FGS , but here is always cooked to perfection 100% deffo recommended
