Wow first time i ever been in there. The service was very quick and the food was just as i ordered it and verg big portions. Very clean. Polite staff. And a good place to have a small meal or one of their wonderful cakes tea or coffee i had hot. Chocolate. Fantastic.

Passed Patisserie Valerie while visiting Cwmbran Shopping Centre for the first time .. as it was my husbands birthday and knowing it’s great reputation we decided to eat there . Such a bad idea .. the waiter was abrupt and rude and our food cold .. I ordered mashed avocado on toast . The toast was wafer thin white toast that looked like happy shoppers own and the poached eggs were freezing cold .. very disappointed when it cost almost £9... won’t be going back . EVER!

Pretty awful on this occasion. Ordered two flat whites at ÂŁ3.12 each and to be honest I have had better from a machine. Not a patch on Costa or even McDonalds . When it first opened it was rich and creamy. Now it is thin and watery. Best I don't go there again.

Nice clean up market store. Comfortable environment with some armchair seats to relax in. Outside seating available which is undercover. Food is exceptional, good size portions, but expensive. Coffee is very good and on par with some of the local coffee shops.Staff are polite, welcoming and friendly. Definitely a place to visit to treat yourself or another.

We have been trying to visit since it opened as we like the Newport store very much. The addition of light meals at Cwmbran is a bonus. We both had omelette which was great and the dressing on the leaf salad is very tasty, not something they sell, but I suggest they should. Mum loves the cake selection, well who doesn't and finds the latte coffee very good. Service at our visit was attentive but not intrusive from all members of staff we dealt with. Pricier than some alternatives in town, but well worth the treat.

Visited today, I’ve been a few times and have to say I’ve always found the staff to be very good. Today was a strange one and I had to leave my lunch due to some pretty demanding people who arrived and turned the restaurant into a game of musical chairs. The poor staff, after moving everyone about the party proceeded to produce their own Birthday cake !!!! Who goes to a Patisserie and brings a Tesco birthday cake ????? Gob smacked.

Today was my 3rd visit to PV. When I had coffee and cake on previous visits I was quite impressed,so, today I thought I'd take my husband there for lunch....big mistake! We both ordered omelette, when the waitress brought our cutlery she noticed one of the forks were dirty, so she changed it. I checked my cutlery and I had a dirty fork too so I asked for it to be changed only to be given yet another dirty fork! This is when we should have left. Our meals arrived....looking and smelling very tasty, unfortunately I wasn't given what I'd ordered. I called over the waitress and said mine was wrong and she asked if perhaps I was eating my husbands omelette, which I wasn't. My plate was taken away and she said she would order another one for me. That was all well and good but I was taken aback by the lack of apologies and being called "sweetheart " by a young lady of around 18. Not only that but my husband had eaten his by the time mine arrived. He wanted to wait so we could eat together but his would have been cold by the time mine came.Sadly the plates were stone cold so the food went cold very quickly, no one came to ask if everything was OK....surprising after what happened so far.We decided not to have a drink after the meal because of our complete disappointment in the service so far, we also thought we would have been offered a drink or a percentage off the bill because of our experience. Needless to say we weren't offered anything voluntarily so I asked for a discount to compensate. Reluctantly, after asking to speak to the supervisor we were offered ONE piece of cake to take away. I asked for something to be taken from the bill instead and eventually after lots of explaining about everything that went wrong, in a very unfriendly manner reluctantly gave us 10% discount. So disappointed today, needs to be a lot of work done on their customer service and care. They should remember if it wasn't for the customers they wouldn't have a job.Pull your socks up staff from Patisserie Valerie Cwmbran and anyone planning to go there.....CHECK YOUR CUTLERY

Visited this cafe today and was very disappointed.Staff were not welcoming and presented a poor image with a lack of uniform. It was early morning and the staff were talking to each other regarding personal matters with tables left with food and dirty cups. The coffee was reasonable although expensive compared with other restaurants in the town. Would certainly not recommend and will NOT return.

I would of liked to be able to give a higher rating, on the taste of the food it was 4*, but the staff at this cafe are useless, they came to my table three times with someone's else's food and drinks, when they did bring my meal it was lovely but why serve a hot meal on a cold plate,? the staff never asked if my meal was ok, they were too busy talking to each other and getting orders wrong, 1st time at this cafe it looked good but the staff let it down, maybe a more experienced manager would help.

Looks great... haven’t used this chain previously. Coffee great... purchased cakes to go. How disappointing, if I closed my eyes would not have a clue what I was eating!!!Healthy eating on a daily basis, this should have been a treat, what a waste!!!
