Three Blackbirds Inn in Torfaen

I wouldn't want to go back for the main menu, carvery maybe.Daughter ordered a carvery while we all had off the main menu.We were served fast but my daughter had to wait really long to be allowed to go get her carvery, I had lasagne and it looked like a cottage pie, but it was a child portion and really small in my opinion and watery, carvery is a good price, but I just wasn't happy with my food. Then came time to pay and we were charged for stuff we shouldn't have (extra chips), it's a nice place, carvery looked nice, but my food just seemed so small and we were offered condiments and then charged for them, I questioned it and they said they have to be requested.... I said she offered and didn't say they were chargeable, but I paid and just left it. I'd go back for a carvery but not main menu

Very nice pub. I was a regular 3 or 4 decades ago. It has improved in every way. And it wasn't bad then in fairness. I will try the nosh soon. I anticipate 5 stars upon receipt.

Went for dinner on Good Friday, very quiet. One mixed grill cooked perfectly and two rump steaks; again cooked perfectly but one could have been trimmed of its gristle.Desserts: treacle sponge scored top marks but the lemon meringue was a bit disappointing 😕.Generally we like the food a the Three Blackbirds but wear warm clothing as it tends to be a well ventilated venue.

Party of 10 booked here for Mothers day and overall very pleased with the experience. Menu was extensive and reasonably priced. Food was well cooked with good sized portions. Service was efficient and staff were welcoming and friendly. Highly recommended and would visit again.

I have read so many positive reviews about the Three Blackbirds Inn, so I had to try it for myself. The atmosphere, staff and prices were excellent, the food was ok. The Chinese style belly pork was tasty, couldn't really taste the 2 VERY small pieces of broccoli and the mashed potato looked as though it had been microwaved to within an inch of its life......really dry. One positive I will put, the drinks were good.

We went on Thursday evening. Great location, clean, nice pub. We had to wait a very long time for our meals and over 20 minutes for our drinks. Meals were enjoyable once we had them. Fine for pub grub and there was an offer on so good value for money.

Very friendly atmosphere staff very professional, polite, and friendly. Meal was really tasty at a reasonable price, I had sirloin steak and it was delicious. They had a good range of Ales there as well. Family friendly with comfortable atmosphere.

A friend and I went for a meal with a 6 week old baby and 7 month old puppy in tow. Lots of places wouldn’t have been happy to see that booking but the staff couldn’t have been friendlier or more accommodating. They put us in a good corner where we had room for the pram and the pup. And before we’d even sat down they came out with a bowl of water and a plate with dog biscuits on!! We’ll definitely be back!

Thank you to all staff who made my daughters 16th birthday gathering special. All the staff were approachable and couldn’t do enough so I left a good tip in appreciation. The food and atmosphere was wonderful, we will definitely be returning.
