Anton's in East Ayrshire

I made an order tonight 14th Feb 22 I waited quite a while for my delivery this was the first time we had an order delivered to us me and my husband were looking forward to our food we thought we would have a we take away sit down and enjoy instead of cooking when I unrapped the paper the food was in we were very disappointed the chips were reheats the batterd sausages were terrible and very small will not be making any more orders in this chipshop.

Ordered and waited 1 hour and 50 minutes for delivery. When I called to enquire of delivery time I was asked my address which I gave and the girl asked for it with “ when is 32 somethings ready” not out yet !!, how long I asked ....”in a wee while”........what, eh.....I asked for a time not your estimate. They’re can’t be that many people after fish and chips, shocking for being the most expensive place in Kilmarnock. Surely as you can’t get in they would employ more drivers to keep their customers happy.........Rant over.

Prices hiked up when Frydays down the road was closed for a couple of weeks. £8.20 for a fish supper? Aye, right.Weird vibe about the place too.Won't be back.

Okay. Weird how staff don't wear masks (during pandemic) but customers are meant too. Double standards. Food okay.

Don’t often use chip shops for children but while visiting family we tried Antons and children all enjoyed it. The chips and curry sauce my teenage daughter says was the best she has had from any chippy (she has however only had from 2 or 3 chippys 🤣) not overy greasy and priced reasonable. Only one criticism is the staff weren’t friendly that was the only let down.

Food was a bit pricey but okay. The 1 star is for the appalling customer service. Ordered 3 different lots of chips with sauce which come in foil trays. Asked for them to be wrapped in paper like they used to be as they’re too hot to carry without & didn’t want them leaking in the car. Got the very rude response from staff member saying they ‘cant’ wrap them & that’s why I was offered to buy a bag! Said I’d pay for a bag if they really wouldn’t give me the paper and had to put 5p charge on my debit card! Needless to say after driving a mile back home, the curry sauce had leaked all inside the bag & my car seat would have been a mess if I’d put the trays in the car the way they were given to me. Been going to Anton’s for years but will NOT be back!!

No had chippy n ages. Used 2 use antons bt bn a long time. Now i no why ages4 delivery! N food tasteless! Nvr again! Wz soo lookin 4ward.it.n wit a mega let down. No taste at all!

Bought fish and chips today as I often do. Won't be going there again. Don't know what's happened to the quality but chips tasted like they had been lying for ages and fish was tasteless and mainly batter. Plus the prices have increased. Definitely not as good as it used to be

Food is good but staff are not too friendly and quite disorganised. One older woman in particular with short black hair is a right grump. No system in place for a queue so often people just walk in and go ahead of you. Staff dont seem to care if they skip, they serve then anyway.

I i don't normally leave reviews, but after reading the bad comments on Antons i still went and got a haggis supper and got very quick and a friendly service, nothing like what's been said from a dissatisfied customer or two, i recommend you try this chip shop its great and completely happy with my dinner, i will be back 😊
