went for meal last night. What a dive. Table sticky. 3 steak pies ordered. Add meat together would make one pie. Filled with loads of very thin gravy with undercooked pastryon top. Portion of onion rings so greasy they were inedible. Wasnt surprised that ive been ill today.

So sad to see what has become of a once great Kilmarnock institution. Food used to be brilliant - now its all defrosted and microwaved. The veggie burger in particular is an embarrassment - an Aldi bean burger has more flavour. The pub itself has completely lost its character since the refit with unenthusiastic staff who struggle to pour a pint and cold decor. Good food great service but empty although it is January

way over priced. charged about 13 quid for two whiskeys. food was awful. oh, and they don't pay their staff even though they get funding from the government to do so, so they're basically committing fraud and theft by withholding wages. only way I'll be back is when I bring the police with me to open a civil case. PAY YOUR STAFF.

Great food even if a limited menu and the same chilled p match atmosphere

The food is tasty, but everything is sticky, from the floor to the tabletops, and the place is dark. It's a pub/club at night, but if it was me I'd have put some skylights in to brighten the place up at night, and it wouldn't affect the place at night. Food is good, priced reasonably, and is cooked fresh, although because it isn't busy you can expect a longer wait than you would think.

To be honest not great today. Always has been in the past though. Food quality great but service was very poor.

Wonderful service and decent food at a very reasonable price. I must say the highlight of our visit was the lovely waiting staff and the level of cleanliness. They seem to have a good system going considering the current circumstances. Well managed. Would reccomend.

Service and cleanliness was perfect. The food was amazing! Best meal out I've had in a long time. Everything tasted sublime, burger was the best I've tasted! Will definitely be back.

Absolutely phenomenal staff members. They are incredibly helpful and always up for some friendly banter with the customers, making you feel welcomed and wanted!The decor is nice albeit a little bit dated, the car in the ceiling is still as funky as ever however.The food is decent but the menu is a little limited. I find myself almost always getting the exact same thing every time I go there for food. Although I've always greatly enjoyed the soup of the day when I've been in. Probably the highlight of the meal every time but to be fair I'm a big lover of soup!As for the negative points, the staff now wear red polo shirts rather than the fairly casual clothing that they used to wear which I don't particularly like. The polo's make it feel a little like you're in a chain place, like McDonald's. It was much more welcoming to see them dressed casually. Beyond this I'm not overly impressed with the price increases as of late. Jack Daniel's and Coke going from 2.95 up to now £3.25 as of 11/11/17 in the time I've been going there. As far as I'm aware all spirits have went up, although I'm unsure about pints and the likes. Last time I was in it was £3.05 for a Jack and Coke so a 20p price hike on a per drink basis is pretty steep, particularly for a place typically known as a students bar!Overall, the staff are certainly the best thing about the bar, not a bad thing to say about them.
