The Sorn Inn Restaurant in East Ayrshire

First time visiting here and it won't be the last. Food, service were first class. We had the sharing ribeye and a couple of desserts. Everything was faultless. Stephanie at front of house was brilliant as were her team. The chef is also clearly a class act. 1st class all around.

First of all I would like to say I visited the SORN five years ago & the meal was superb, top quality however, went here recently & was greatly disappointed.The menu online we had looked at was not the same as the menu when we arrived. I guess this reflects how often the site is updated!I ordered a prawn cocktail as a starter & wish I hadn't as the prawns had a heat to them . Prawn cocktail should be served cold . Needless to say after one bite I left the rest.I ordered fillet steak for my main & asked for it to be cooked medium, with a side portion. Steak was overcooked & I left some of it and never received the side dish. Was disappointed as £30 for a steak isn't cheap. I was never asked once what was wrong with the food I had left which tells me this place isn't interested in good customer care only the cash. The place was very quiet but the staff seemed more interested in standing up the back area chatting rather than checking everything was ok.I asked the server to deduct the side from the bill as I never received it, that's when I received an apology but by that time I'd had enough. The waitress ended up deducting our drinks off the bill for the inconvenience.To be honest I would never go back here for a meal under this management & cooks as it was terrible. I think the chef's need some retraining in my opion as food was not nice & a bit of a rip off.Save your cash and go elsewhere!!

Great Food and Service, Confidently supplied a vegetarian menu and great meal. Many thanks would recommend for a quiet peaceful venue. Would certainly return.

Food was excellent,the best steak I have ever had and cooked to perfection. The cocktails were good too.. definitely heading back!!

Food was incredible and outstanding service. Travelled from Glasgow to try thr famous steak and seafood and I'll be doing it again in a heartbeat. Amazing.

The menu is small but perfect. Enough choice for the 4 of us. The menu had changed since our previous visit which was a good chance to try something new. The food is beautifully cooked and the portions perfect. A great place for a special meal. Will be going again.

Amazing food and service. Great for steak lovers, yet catered well for food allergies. I had the best cheesecake ever and it was vegan. Well worth the money.

Had an absolutely delicious lunch today. The steaks are absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked as ordered. The staff are lovely, really nice and helpful and friendly, can’t fault a thing. By the way, the ice cream sundaes aren’t bad either.

Fantastic lunch today at a great 'dog friendly' not just 'dog tolerant' restaurant. (there is a difference). Impeccable service from the moment we walked through the door, and the food was outstanding! Will definitely be back.
