Twice in a row we have found the front of house manager offensive. At retirement age we asked for mugs because the teacup handles are so tiny they are hard to grip. This is a common complaint apparently. He told my husband to bring a “beaker” next time. Disgusting old folks reference. This evening whilst in the middle of our meal he put up the outside awning leaving blinding sunlight pouring in and blinding me and other people around. I actually couldn’t see across the table. When asked if he could put it back up for a bit he said no that he was the only person on the place tall enough to use the shutter pole and he was going off shift. His attitude was shocking. He said we could just move if we didn’t like it and walked off. No smile, no kindness and a disgrace to the word hospitality!!

Amazing meal. Weather was horrible but worth it for the fish and chips and the ice-cream was great too. Staff coul not have been more helpful.

·

Fantastic service, great food and beautiful art deco style surroundings... pure italian class... with an amazing view right on the Ayrshire coast.

·

Stopped for ice cream and milkshakes, just take away but was really good, I also thought because of the famous name it would be really costly, one of the cheapest ice creams I have had. Great value service was also great. Will definitely be back x

·

A superb selection of main courses, ice creams and pastries.Very busy, but the staff were very good in dealing with orders and the food is served remarkably quickly for such a busy time.Ice creams are not the cheapest, but definitely worth it as that special treat.

We were here yesterday for birthday dinner, unfortunately this time we are absolutely disappointed…We’ve ordered fish and chips as usually was perfect, this time all three was inedible, overcooked, greasy and rock solid … , we’ve also had prawns , they were this same rock solid and disgusting…I’ve placed an order for sharing sald and garlic bread but we received soup and salad :D unfortunately staff forgot about spoon … unfortunately they forgot about small plates for all of us to share salad and we were eating from one plate .I’ve complained to one of the staff members but unfortunately we don’t even hear sorry from anyone…Up to today last few years it was our best place for dessert and fish and chips … unfortunately no any more…Coffee was good as usual…

Walked in on a windy rainy day with two cold toddlers and was given a comfortable table without issue.I went for a classic fish and chips, portion was reasonable and everything tasted pretty good.Kids meals were mac and cheese and a crispy sausage. The only issue was that the sausage came with beans and it wasn't stated on the menu. Could have raised it with the wait staff but the bairn was able to eat around the beans but meant some of the dinner was wasted.Ice cream was the stand out, huge sundaes for the adults and more reasonable bowls for the kids. Was very impressed and would next time consider going just for that.Service was OK, the man who was greeting was a bit cold and seemed put out when I asked for a table. One waitress we were served by had a similar demeanour, but the other two we interacted with were very pleasant.Would definitely try it again and certainly save room for dessert.

The food was delicious and didn't take too long to arrive, the ice cream was amazing and the place was nice and clean but I thought the service was bad, three times the order was wrong and had to be rectified, we had to wait ages in between orders or ordering any more drinks and it took forever to get the bill, and I'd not be bothered if they were busy or not enough staff but there were less than half the tables filled and no outdoor custom so I gave a three as an overall. I would go back and visit again because maybe it was just an off day, the fish and chips would be worth going back for

The famous Nardini's of Largs opened in 1935. It is a coffee shop, fish and chip restaurant and cafe. The award winning cafe can seat 200 people, but the most famous thing about Nardini's is the ice cream. This famous ice cream comes in 32 different flavours, and uses fresh Scottish milk and double cream. 3 scoops in a tub will cost you £3.60, and each scoop can be a different flavour, It is a must visit for anyone stopping Largs.
