The Red Squirrel Pub in North Ayrshire

Sunday lunch with the family was excellent 2 of us have food allergies and we have never had more fuss made over a peanut allergy in any restaurant before the table was cleared and cleaned again as we were seated all the serving spoons at the carvery were changed and my husband was taken to carvery on his own so there was no cross contamination . Our server Nicola was very attentive and brilliant changing changing our table as I had forgotten to add in booking that we had 2 wheelchairs, the food was all well cooked and fresh out. A lot of food outlets could learn a thing or 2 from the staff at the Red Squirrel

Food was great, carvery meat refreshed regularly. Luke our waiter was very attentive and polite. Bar staff were great with the kids playing pool.

Enjoyed our visit to the red squirrel this morning with our kids. Jasmine was very friendly and attentive and nothing was too much bother. Jasmine was fantastic at engaging with the weans teaching then about growing sunflowers and strawberries. Thank you Jasmine for a great morning we look forward to growing our sunflowers and strawberries in the greenhouse at home and will be back to visit you soon x

Took our grandchildren in for food, ordered a child's meal, carvery for 2, my partner is vegetarian, the menu stated a pleasant array of choices. The waitress said she would check with the chef's on available choices to be told the only option was a veg burger.The carvery was terrible,. Looked like it had been sat on the hotplate for hours,. The veg was lacking quality.again was dried up.The kids meal was forgotten about and we had to chase it.upAvoid

The ample sized room was basic but clean, well presented, had air conditioning and a large TV. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel and associated pub are quite modern. They are located just outside the town on a small retail estate of food/drink outlets including Domino's Pizza, KFC and Costa. The reception is located in the pub and the accommodation block is opposite on the other side of the road. There is key card entry only to the accommodation. The rooms are on two floors with stair only access. There is plenty of free parking.

Love coming here, always great food and the staff are very welcoming. Will definitely be back

Nice place, lovely people. Exceptional service at hotel, came back to find my bed made when most places don't enter during your stay. Nice pub /restaurant. Food for dinner was good, Scottish breakfast exceeded all expectations

Food and service was excellent and friendly. One point I paid £2.00 extra for an extra large dinner. The only difference between my wife’s dinner. Who had a regular plate was one extra piece of meat. Whilst I was happy with the quality and quantity I feel being charged an extra £2 for one extra piece of meat is a bit steep. The advert on the menu said a extra large Yorkshire pudding and extra fluffy roast potatoes. My wife had all of those just one slice of meat less. Just making the point!!
