Brig O Doon Hotel in South Ayrshire

Lovely setting for the wedding I was at and the food was really nice . Only downside drinks prices are really on the high side that's including non alcoholic ones . £28 For bottle of white wine a bit on the steep side but as I say the venue is really nice .

Amazing for a wedding, staff were absolutely wonderful, so attentive and nothing was too much. Melissa was so on the ball throughout, keeping everything running smoothly. Super organised and an absolutely gorgeous venue. Thorougly enjoyed our time there!

One of the oldest hotels in ayr the restaurant and food is lovely proper Scottish pkac and the famous brig of doon is a spectacle in itself the views are gorgeous

Best possible place for a wedding! We had Kari and Tammy (from the staff) helping us through the whole process and had a wonderful time! The rooms and grounds make this this place an ideal getaway for couples! Can't see any room for improvement!Well done, team!

On a long delayed mother's day gift trip with my wife. Stay was fantastic from our friendly check in on arrival, great bar service, a fantastic dinner and an equally good breakfast to our friendly check out.

When in for a drink with my family. There was a wedding on in another room and we were told that there was no staff to serve us as they had the wedding on. There was a reception staff and someone else not in the wedding so did they just not like the look of us or ???? or does this always happen when a wedding is on ?

Really disappointed. Had the breaded fish and couldn't get our knives through the dressing far less eat it. Waited 50 mins for our starter deep fried veg which was nice. Had to ask for an ice bucket for our 23 pounds a bottle white wine. Only reason 2 stars was because of the beautiful setting. Lots of large parties in but staff need to bear in mind tables for 2 are paying the same prices and deserve the same level of attention

Lovely surroundings, staff very mannerly & helpful. We had been given vouchers as a birthday gift & told we would have a fantastic meal there. What a disappointment!! The starter came with very small portions but hey, thought it was a starter! When the main course came, my portion size was ok but thought the waitress was going to bring a further dish for my husband as the potato consisted of roughly one teaspoon amount & one small fritter. Portion size was childlike so thought we would fill up with rhubarb crumble but when this arrived consisting of biscuit size amount of crumble with probably 2 teaspoonfuls of custard for the price of £6.95!!! Was more of an insult to the oap’s £60 gift! Definitely not value for money. When you go out for a three course meal you shouldn’t leave famished!! It does say Costley above the door. Should have taken the warning. First & last visit.

I felt this was overpriced for the quality of food received. The staff were nice but you could tell they were judging you if you didn't look as though you fitted into the environment as it is clearly a place for people who are of a certain class. The surroundings were gorgeous and the place was spotless.
