I used to enjoy the cafe here. Almost always bought something in the shop when I visited. Self service now and more like a canteen. Not what it used to be sadly. Definitely no longer a dining experience. Dowhill has went downhill.

Clean & tidy friendly farm shop. Eating area being renovated meantime.

Very disappointed. Paper plates wooden cutlery and a Costa coffee machine really! Not the treat it used to be.

Still nice, but preferred the large menu and homemade chips 😋

Good..food was lovely..nice Costa (not a quick way to get a coffee) but...could use a wee sign to inform you on arrival that you should get your order at the counter as myself and another customer went in and sat down before realising there was no table service. Food was lovely tho.

Sadly, a poor experience. Really disappointed. We used to love going here for lunch. Great view, lovely food and always friendly staff. Now self service, coffee machine and food on cheap paper plates. My apologies if this is a result of Covid'. I wish you well for the future

Some farm produce (soup, pie and 3 cheeses made on Aran) but mostly "life style" pseudo gifts...if you're in the market for an over-sized animal themed pouffe for a few hundred quid or branded rain macs and price is no barrier all whilst being a few miles down the road from Girvan - this is your place. Cafe not open yet, that's what we went in for but the signs didn't explain this.

So expensive. Woman on till absolutely miserable and rude. Never asked flavour of cake we wanted and when we asked to change she was huffy. Never explained that we got free green tails with our very expensive potatoes which she never asked if we agreed to price. Just felt unhappy coming out and ruined what could of been a lovely experience in a beautiful place. The Stars for nice set up and lovely strawberries but over all experience, my group came away with bad impression. Even the couple next to me said “don’t expect polite here”.

Nicely presented, affordable and very tasty food. Good choice of meals. Staff friendly and happy to adjust the menu to your needs. Everything seems to be new and is kept clean.Great view over the Arran and Ailsa Craig.Nice shop selling local produce. We'll be back!
