We all really enjoyed dinner here. Everything was done just right. Note the beef lasagna is not in a tomato based sauce, it's beefier. Interesting desserts and a friendly helpful staff.

Been again today for Sunday roast. Lovely fresh food, generous portions and good value for money. Friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended

The food is good. The service is good.I felt like anytime we asked a question it was a very short reply. Like we were an inconvenience. If you want a good meal better than your usual pub grub this is the place for you.Any allergies and you'll get something but don't expect a straight forward answer.

My Mum and I have been up in Ayr for a few days. We found this pub by accident. Absolutely beautiful "proper" old pub with hand pulled ale!Lovely strong coffee and the wild mushroom pie with mashed potato and mixed green vegetables was to die for Beautifully creamy mash and lush puff pastry - not a soggy patch in sight! We couldn't eat it all, so the lovely lady behind the bar put it in a takeaway box for us. We'll definitely be back again to work our way through the menu! When I eventually move to the area, this will definitely be my weekly jaunt, no matter how far away it may be. What a friendly, fantastic little find.If you're in the South Ayrshire area, I highly recommend a meal here. You won't be disappointed.P.S. The chef with the ginger beard is lush!

Absolutely one of the best places to have a drink and a meal! Best fish I've ever tasted, not to mention they allowed oue 10month of Belgian Malinois x German shepherd in for his first pub visit! Couldn't be happier with the service and such friendly staff and locals! 100% reccomend for anyone wanting a well priced meal especially if you have a pupper!

If your anywhere in the area, you must visit.A modern yet, traditional pub within a welcoming and friendly setting.Excellent food that I would give full marks for. You can tell a good place when they take as much care with the quality and presentation of the children's food.Although not something I would normally see I had a steak and sausages pie with mash and seasonal veg. My son had sausage and mash which also came with seasonal veg.Now the important part.... The food was to die for usually I find that seasonal to be undercooked, but not here cooked to perfection. Real mash and most importantly a pie with a puff pastry top. Finally was too full for a desert, which did look good but my son has a strawberry ice cream which came with a real strawberry and after a taste wasn't the usual cheap tat. Finally, finally... Very well priced with a main meal being around 12.00 and a kids meal with ice cream for 6.00. Pint of haverlee (never heard of it, very good though) 4.00 and. Coke for 2.00.If I lived in the area it would be my new place to go. I'm not a tip giver, but felt the need to with this one.Well done Kirkmichael Arms

Got us in at short notice. Restaurant side was very busy and we had a small dog with us so sat in the bar area. Good to get a pint of real ale in Scotland and it didn’t disappoint. Very well kept. The food was excellent. Very tasty. Would definitely return if in the area.
