Old Loans Inn in South Ayrshire

Downstairs room at the main road,which was no problem,but up above was an elephant we believe!!!. Also the fire door was immediately outside our door and needs oiling,the bathroom door did not close at all . On the plus side the food was great as usual and with the cold snap the hotel was lovely and warm.the woman who checked us in could have been a bit more social but was efficient.We have stayed here a number of times and will stay again.

Just home from an overnight stay. Our third time at this hotel. I have to say that standards have gone downhill.Lack of staffOur evening meal was inedible. We had to send it back . Well my husband's. I ate half of mine but it was very poor. Considering you are charging high end prices which I would expect to pay in a high end restaurant in a city centre. It was dealt with ok but I could see the staff that were on duty weren't too happy to come to our table. All we wanted was a lovely meal but we certainly didn't get that.It's a real shame as unfortunately we won't return to this hotel.

Fantastic break from start to finish. There were ten of us staying celebrating a big birthday and the staff were so accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. Food and service were also fantastic. Ideally located for a taxi hop to Ayr racecourse if you don’t want to stay in Ayr. Can’t thank Richard and team enough for helping to make our break so memorable. We will definitely be back.

Lovely resturant and a nice hotel, staff are very friendly and nice as does the management. Very good chefs and Food is excellent. Definitely will be back.

First time at this place, Staff brilliant really good food and nothing was a problem for them. We stayed the night and room was immaculate would highly recommend this place to stay or have a meal

Lovely family meal for my dad’s birthday. They happily accommodated my mum’s request for a small portion. Every one of our party of 6 had a nice meal. And the dog came too 😊

We are a meetup group of ladies who do Friday Breakfast and Banter every week at different venues around our area. This is a favourite with the group because of the variety of breakfast dishes and the very reasonable price. Service is first class too@

Definitely recommended. Eight of us just had a lovely New Years 3 course meal. Delicious and well presented. Staff were lovely and friendly. Steak Pie was best ever.

Had Christmas Dinner here with the family. It was absolutely delightful, we bearly had to wait for our meals which were all delicious. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. Beautiful homely place to eat. Would definitely recommend

We went to the Restaurant for a spot of lunch. The food was fabulous and the waiting staff were very friendly and helpful. I wanted fries with a cheese sauce that was not on the Menu but the waitress came back and said the Chef can do a cheese sauce. Amazing what a difference. Will definitely return. Great friendly service from out front and the kitchen too.
