One of the best experiences of this type of establishment I have ever experienced. Margeret, the owner is welcoming and could not do more to make you feel valued. The food is fresh, varied and very reasonably priced. The poppy room is spotlessly clean and a wonderful way to recharge the batteries. Ignore derisary one star comments as these were made by awkward anti-social customers, you always get a few!

Met our friends today for lunch at the Poppy Room we booked a table weather outside was wet cold and windy went inside to be met by a sour faced woman who told us to wait outside while she wiped our table no warm welcome. Our friend went back inside to explain that we had booked a table the place was not busy only a couple of tables occupied. Sour faced woman eventually motioned for us to enter and pointed out our table. After we got settled we noticed that the door was left open so I got up to close it over not thinking that it was to ventilate for Covid - that I totally get but what I have issue with was the attitude of the staff member who was very rude and arrogant towards me. If I had been on my own I would have walked out but did not want to make a fuss as we were with our friends. Rest assured we will NEVER be back. A disgraceful way to treat your customers and the woman in question should be ashamed of herself

Went there for coffee,felt very unwelcome by a waitress who kept looking over our shoulders to check if we are finished-and it wasnt a case of the place being busy!We got what looked like a mini version of cappucino...

Over vinegared salad. Haggis was obviously out of a tin. Paid for a over 60s lunch. Charged full price and didn't get the ice cream. Staff were non-plused about the complaints.would not recommend even taking your dog. Not going back. I made a better baked potato from supermarket staples. If your gonna charge those prices at least serve decent food. Even the coleslaw was dismal.

Lovely little find for us in Troon. Gorgeous Coffee, chocolate cake and really, Good fruit scone (with fruit in) sorry no piccy as I ate it before I had realised. 😊 Happy to help staff. Well recommend.

Hi folks, I recently visited the Poppy Room with 3 colleagues (4 older gentleman in total) for a cancer care meeting, the place was spotless and staff very pleasant, there was a decent menu on offer, but we 4 had some absolutely delicious scones with butter and lovely jam which everyone enjoyed, a seriously enjoyable experience and is highly recommended. Our meeting was concluded and I for one will definitely return . 👍

A very welcoming and accommodating place. Had no problem taking our two large mastiffs and the food/drinks were great to boot. Highly recommended

Lovely place, lovely staff, amazing scones and the best jam ever, a mix of strawberry and raspberry annnnd real milk with your fresh tea, not uht rubbish. The best food place in Troon.
