What a difference in the red dug, very impressed with the new layout. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. Thoroughly recommended.

Popped in for Mother's Day dinner with the family. Place was pretty busy, as expected with it being Mother's Day.Service was really good throughout.Food, not so much! The cajun chicken and cajun vegetable crepe were actually served in a tortilla wrap, instead of a fresh crepe.My daughter found a long hair in her crepe, which was replaced quickly! It would have been nice to take a little off of the bill, or offer a complimentary drink for the experience.The sauce on the vegetable crepe had split and was quite oily.With regards to the desserts, the lemon meringue pie had a strange lingering taste to it, and my sticky toffee pudding had a rogue pastry brush bristle inside it.All in all, food was okay, nothing great and the service was fast, friendly and efficient.

If you've not been recently or yet to visit, the Red Lion is worth tryingThe new decor provides lots of light with good seating areas.The menu offers excellent value if you're there a night when the 2courses for £10.95 is on. Lots of choice with options to upgrade if you fancy something different.The front offers more of a vibrant pub feel and back more diners but I'm happy to eat in either.They also have a good children's menu so an excellent choice if you're going out as family.There is parking at the back but limited and no disabled spot so I'd phone ahead in the event they can keep you a spot.

We popped into the Red Lion by accident last month. It was late. It was dark. We were tired and just wanted a hot meal. We had no idea what to expect but we hoped that they would at least have a nice burger. The outside of the pub looked like a standard old pub and I admit I thought "it'll probably be microwaved and deep fried food here."We entered and were welcomed by a friendly young lady. She sat us down at a table and gave us the menu. I was shocked to find so many choices. Cajun Chicken. Ribeye. Pepper Chicken. Great meal deals and delicious desserts as well. The Ribeye was priced under 15 and I thought it was too good to be true. I ordered it anyway.To my surprise, it was cooked to perfection! I like my steaks medium/medium rare. It had a gentle char on it and melted in my mouth. I had added the garlic butter to the steak, but it didn't need it. My partner's Pepper chicken and mash was melt-in-your-mouth delicious as well.We went back again and the food was even more delicious the second time around. Kudos to their chef Ewan. That man really knows how to cook a steak. He's made the Red Lion our favourite place to eat when we're in Prestwick. Looking foward to our next trip to try the Cajun Chicken!

Good food, decent selection of whisky, reasonable price.Would like to say typical pub grub but they do also have some more unique options such as chipotle pancakes.Would go again.

Nice meal, great service, lovely, relaxed atmosphere too. Ideal for couples or families.

Popped in to The Red Lion for late lunch and the food was delicious. I had the mac and cheese which was definitely homemade and the best I've ever tasted. Staff were lovely and the beer garden allowed us to enjoy the sunshine too. Would highly recommend.
