Restaurant at Highgrove House Hotel in South Ayrshire

I know everyone has been struggling with Covid and staffing is challenging too, however, booked Sunday lunch for 3 as a special outing for my elderly Mum. Very average food, service poor as had to ask for things missing and just not the Highgrove I knew and loved pre-Covid. Roast beef served with huge onion and tomato with overdone meat and two tiny roast potatoes. Will need to persuade me you have upped your game before I’ll come back. So sad as views and location lovely.

Lovely views with dinner,looking out over troon and Irvine. Nice atmosphere. Salmon salad is a favourite and tasty. Cajun chicken and beef tacos are also lovely. Not sure the bread and butter basket was worth it but apart from that, great dinner.

Table was booked for eight pm sat on time then waited some time for menu's and drinks order to be taken when drinks eventually arrive one drink missing said and waited after a period had to ask again before we got drink ordered mains for party of eight two of which where children when mains arrive two of the three pork schnitzel were burnt so when I could eventually get hold of a shift manager it was removed and offered something else by this time others were near to finishing there meal so didn't bother also one Mac n cheese was loop warm and one other schnitzel was also burnt ordered three sweets waited that long for them we had to cancel them as taxi had arrived two mains removed from bill but very disappointed with overall experience as it was for my birthday had we chosen from the valentine's menu may not of had same problem will not be in any hurry to return in the future hight grove you really need to up your game

Had Christmas dinner here. I hate doing this but after spending £500 on a meal that we had all looked forward to and the meal and service were not up to standard. Food was mediocre, not worth £70 a head, nothing special about it at all. The service was very poor, it wasn’t busy and we kept having to try and get someone’s attention, plates were on the table for too long, food missing that we ordered, such a shame. Times are tough but to spend that sort of money and get a poor meal and service is just not acceptable.

Nice place, a few veggie options, I had cauliflower steak, which wasn’t very tasty and very oily, the rest was ok, and deserts were great

Love this place but sadly disappointed with food quality last Friday night. Having been in business so long I would expect a steak to be cooked the way I ask for it

Nice Sleep over, top dining too. Well looked after by attentive staff. Remember to request either room numbers 1 or 2, this matters....enjoy...

Reasonable value, service good. My croquette starter could have been hotter but the Pork Schnitzel was great. It's a pity that we booked for the early bird menu but they said they weren't doing it when we arrived!!
