Today was our first visit to the Red Lion and we are impressed. It was bright and modern inside, all the staff were helpful and friendly. The service was top class. The food, wow, massive portion sizes and tasted absolutely gorgeous. I recommend the fish and chips or rather whale and chips haha. We will definitely go again.

Smashing cooked breakfast & with a half price deal on, a bargain it was. 4 stars rather than 5, next time (& there will be a next time) I will ask for my coffee to come out with breakfast, as it was cold by the time it arrive. Only room for improvement for me, great idea sitting the wee pack of butter on the toast to soften it up, however, I don't think mines was actually very hard to start with, as it was almost liquid... toast was still cracking mind you!!

Had a lovely visit to The Red Lion. The restaurant has been refurbished since our last visit and looked fresh and nice. Cocktails great and nice big portions for food. Staff very friendly. We live in Glasgow but love Prestwick and this always features in our visits to Ayrshire. Would definitely return and recommend.

Walked in on a sunny, windy day after no success finding a place to eat. The kind bouncer of The Buff told us where to find the Red Lion and we are indebted to him for leading us to this jolly, local watering hole. From the moment we walked in, the friendly staff took care of us like they’d known us for years. Patiently they took our order and lightning fast the food arrived. Steak pie with a double tall puff pastry riding atop a generous portion of delightful gravy and tender chunks of meat. We could immediately see why the locals of Prestwick alight here for the superb atmosphere and attentive service. The sticky toffee pudding rounded out the corners nicely and we left with full bellies and satisfied smiles. Thank you, Red Lion. We’ll try and make it back!

Large public bar with a good selection of beers and wine at reasonable prices. Ideal for watching sports. There is a reasonable menu similar to a diner. At the rear is a beer garden.

If you've not been recently or yet to visit, the Red Lion is worth tryingThe new decor provides lots of light with good seating areas. The menu offers excellent value if you're there a night when the 2courses for £10.95 is on. Lots of choice with options to upgrade if you fancy something different. The front offers more of a vibrant pub feel and back more diners but I'm happy to eat in either. They also have a good children's menu so an excellent choice if you're going out as family. There is parking at the back but limited and no disabled spot so I'd phone ahead in the event they can keep you a spot.

Popped in to The Red Lion for late lunch and the food was delicious. I had the mac and cheese which was definitely homemade and the best I've ever tasted. Staff were lovely and the beer garden allowed us to enjoy the sunshine too. Would highly recommend.
