The Smoking Goat in South Ayrshire

Had a truly magnificent double burger here, with beautiful fries and the tastiest onion rings I've ever tasted. The staff are attentive and the location is brilliant, good food served here!

Great pint! Great burger! I'd say the best in Ayr. Quite old school feeling walkin in down the stairs. If visiting Ayr it's perhaps a hidden gem, you'd walk past academy lane if you never realised it was there. Highly recommended and accomodating....wife doesn't drink so made her a virgin strawberry daiquiri, which I don't think was on the menu. So high 5 to the barman for that too.

feels like a hidden secret when making your way in down the stairs. Nice and cosy once inside you feel a comforting vibe from all round. Food is excellent, moreish with every bite. Thankfully the menu is diverse enough to warrant a quick return. I will be back!

Absolutely fantastic night here tonight. Reminded so much of my favourite establishment Wine Bar,Queens court, and also the beloved Edgar Allen's in ayr many years ago. Super attentive staff and great food. Speakeasy relaxing vibes from yesteryear, and soul man entertainment tonight amazing and easy listening, "exceptionally good".Will certainly return to this relaxing establishment. .

Fantastic quirky bar great staff and management!Beer garden is quirky and cosy closes at 10pm like all beer gardens due south Ayrshire licensing laws. Food menu is great different for Ayr and setting a trend great place to take friends and enjoy great drinks in a chilled out environment. Can’t wait to go back !!!

Okay so... I am in two minds about this place. On one hand, it is clearly a great place for drinks and a few sides to share. The atmosphere is incredible, the staff are lovely and the decor is perfect.HOWEVER, I was quite disappointed with the burgers. The patties themselves tasted like ones you'd get from the value aisle in your local supermarket. From the venue I expected them to be more the style of a five guys in terms of an american "smash" burger.It's a shame because everything else was great.

Great food, brilliant menu and lovely staff all in a beautiful historic building with outside beer garden too. Can't wait to head back soon. Great Vegetarian choices and good portions.

Just love this place, atmosphere, food, drinks, and the decor is amazing, staff go above and beyond for u so 5 stars it is.
