Amici in South Lanarkshire

Always have a great meal here, staff are friendly and welcoming and the food is fantastic. Highly recommended. Also now do takeaway/ delivery.

We visited the other day for the first time and we were impressed with the warm, cosy atmosphere, despite the restaurant being empty, aside from us. The staff were all wearing face masks and socially distancing, which was a thumbs up, plus it was clean inside too. The garlic bread was also delicious.Unfortunately that's where the positives end.The staff were attentive, but the restaurant seemed to be far more focused on deliveries and phone orders than on those of us within the premises. They have a VERY limited menu and, to add insult to injury, we found that one of the items we wanted was no longer being offered and should have been removed from the menu (arancini), due to lack of interest from people and limited availability of ingredients. The food also seemed to take ages to arrive and there wasn't much outlook.The pizza was well made and different to most other places, but I wasn't much of a fan, as it didn't have much cheese and included the tomato skins within the sauce. Overall I've had better, but I've definitely had worse too.I think the place was oversold to me and I had high expectations that weren't really met.Would I recommend it? Yes, it's worth a visit, as it's in a nice location and an unusual, old building.Would I go back? I wouldn't hurry back, but I'm glad I've at least tried the place.N.B. Lovely meal ,good choice on menu and reasonably priced.Friendly helpful staff .

First visit since covid, it was good to just walk to our local Italian restaurant. The food was very good as was the service, great to be back. Will hopefully be back soon.

Amazing authentic Italian restaurant!We chose to eat here on the last night of our Babymoon stay in Strathaven and it was beautiful!We decided to go all out and have 3 courses and we are so glad we did!The restaurant itself is quite small but has a lovely family feel to it. The staff were very welcoming and covid safe by all wearing masks and offering plenty of hand sanitiser.For starters we opted to share the Mozzarella sticks, which were amazing!!!! And the Arancini.For our mains my partner opted for a pepperoni pizza and I went for the cooked ham with mushroom.The pizza dough was so fresh and light and extremely tasty!We did push the boat out and decided to have a dessert. My partner went for the Maltesers cheesecake and I opted for the Lemon and Mango sorbet - both were absolutely delicious!Another top notch restaurant in Strathaven which we would definitely return to if we are ever in the area!

First time out for a meal for a while, our last experience in another restaurant wasn't to great.But I must admit this time we both had a great time. The restaurant was spotless and safe with all the right precautions in place. The meal, the drinks and the service were all perfect. Well done all at The Amici.

Went here on a busy night. Food was pretty good, as was choice of drinks. I especially liked the range of reasonably priced grappa! If it had a bit more atmosphere I might have given it 5*.

Bruchetta starter very disappointing although my wife enjoyed her mozzarella sticks . Shared a pasta & pizza deal which was very very tasty but again the main course was let down by the sweet. Sweet pizza??. Heavy and if it wasn't for the chocolate sauce tasteless.
