Crooked Lum in South Lanarkshire

I've been eating there for 5 nights. All i can say the food is a bit expensive, they don't prepare the food in the same way everyday, sides not available everyday (sweet popato fries and halloumi fries not available for 3 days). On the 1st dinner i have ordered garlic bread wich was awesome but on the 5th dinner i have ordered the same and was to dry, i complained to them about it and brought me another one which was undercoocked. Also the taste on the steaks was not very good. The only good thing there was te peppercorn sauce

Honestly gutted to leave this review but I suppose it's the only way to learn. Please note this in no way reflected on the member of staff on her own.No menu given. It was buffet with cereal/pastry then order fried food or nothing?Let's start with the posotivesPlenty space as we hadn't pre booked.Cereal options good.Pastry/pancakes available.DIY toast.Coffee/Tea selection very good. Inc orange/apple etc.Quick service and meal prep.Hash browns tasty.Eggs cooked well.Things not great -No plates for diy toast.Coffee machine broke down with no one around to help for a while.Bacon was awful. Greasy, cardboard texture.Link sausage overcooked.Beans portion was honestly a tablespoon.Mushrooms were cut thick and tasted awful.2 pastry choices.Not a good experience for a vegan or vegetarian which there was one in our party.

Amazing food loved it and so did my wee boy better than the Hungary horse and staff where friendly amd kind will be back

10/10 for food cannot fault will be returning very soon hats off to the chef👌

Xmas menu was fine but several options were not available- to be fair this is a sign of the times though - covid. Not many staff visible either, even though it was very quiet. Staff were helpful & friendly.

Service at tables in bar used to be very good drinks and food ordered at table and billed after meal. Now you have to order all at bar and pay before meal (why tip before meal) you cannot show appreciation for an enjoyed a good meal or good service this way. Apart from that the food is good and local.

Had a quick bite to eat at the Crooked Lum with some colleagues before a meeting. Great value for money on the lunchtime menu! Enjoyed the breaded mushrooms to start and Grilled Chicken Sandwich as a main. Staff were freindly and quick service. Hopefully be back when we return to more regular office visits.

Friendly and proffesional staff. All orders taken and presented perfectly. Meals were tasty and sufficient in quantity. 11 people at our table and all served at the same time. Full marks !! Let down on the accompanying garlic bread. Still white and not crunchy. Worth a visit.

This place is tastefully decorated. It has a good menu. Bar staff are very friendly. They cook the best steak I have ever tried. The only disadvantage is in busy days you can wait for long for your food and it could be slightly warm...
