John Carrigan's Eating House in South Lanarkshire

Out for dinner on Sat 2nd April, first time visit and I can't recommend this place enough, staff were wonderful, very helpful, food was amazing but 1 thing I will say, go with an empty stomach because the portion size is definitely not stingy, my husband and I will definitely go again.

The staff here went above and beyond to make my wee mums 80th birthday dinner special ❤️, the food was amazing 🤩 and the staff were exceptional ❤️, they took a lot of pressure off us ie.- decorated the table and put the balloons in place for our arrival 😊 and then brought out the birthday cake 🎂 a great, memorable night was had by all , thank you so much to you all. 😊

This is by a mile, hands down, simply the best, family run restaurant you can ever eat at. The staff are outstanding they just about do anything to make your visit enjoyable. The food is always fresh,a fantastic choice, and great portions. I will return time and time again.

Visited Hamilton restaurant yesterday. Absolutely fantastic. Warm welcome from the sraff, everyone a joy. Had great food, lovely coffee. Fabulous atmosphere and lovely to see families out enjoying themselves. Highly recommend, and most definitely will be back.

Pleasant, friendly atmosphere staff couldn't do enough for you . The servings were plentiful food very tasty and piping hot . Staff frequently checked everything was okay but not intrusive. All in all would recommend.

We visited tonight for the first time, and it was absolutely delicious. Kate our server was ✨AMAZING✨ So friendly and welcoming. All the staff were lovely. The Caledonian chicken was so filling, and delicious, we both left absolutely stuffed with our cheesecake in a to go box! We'll absolutely be back.

Love this place, the service is really good and the staff are helpful and friendly. I come here whenever I'm in the area, they do one of the best ribeye steaks I've had anywhere. Took a colleague with me last time, it was the highlight to his work week.

Both ordered fillet steak tried 1 piece couldn’t chew it. Waitress took it back off us after complaining as each steak cost roughly £30 she came back asked if anything else on menu we wanted , we picked something else but didn’t like it as we thot it was smash potatoes it was not somewhere I would go again . Never got as much as an opology from them .

Been waiting ages now to get the regular menu as it was limited during covid. Had the lamb shank which was fantastic as always, the market vegetables were broccoli, cauliflower cheese, carrot and turnip. Very filling, cooked to perfection and great tasting.My friend had the pate starter and sweet and sour chicken main; which was crispy chicken with a great tangy sweet and sour sauce. Wish they would do a fried rice with the sweet and sour instead of pilau. And my friend got the lemon cheesecake however was disappointed as it had no taste of lemon. However we are here often and food is good with a great selection to chose from and large portions. Pricing is reasonable too.Good place to come for a couple or even a large group.
