Roasted in South Lanarkshire

This was our third visit to Toby Carvery so far and will be many more, we stay at the hotel next door as our half way stop over between Aberdeen and Liverpool to visit family with our wee boy, so this place is ideal for a lovely dinner.We are always amazed at how nice the staff are here, everyone is very friendly, the young lad Will always goes that extra mile to make sure we are happy and it’s nice to see he recognises us now when we come in :)Top class restaurant with top class staff.

Recently went over to toby carvery to pick up a too good to go bag. The manager seems to have a bit of an attitude towards it and made me feel very awkward.. maybe better customer skills would be beneficial!! Won't be back.. apart from that experience I've always found it good .the carvers are nice as is the staff normally

It was our first time. I was really impressed with it and the food was amazing. But I got the king plate and my partner and daughter got the normal plate the cuts of meat where the same, wasn't any bigger and I had to ask for my extra Yorkshire pudding. But it never put me off and the staff were amazing.

Booked our table for 5pm, for 3 adults and one infant. The restaurant was fairly quiet at that time, although it began to get busy as the night went on.Had a good meal and left stuffed. Great choice of meats and sides. Could do with being a little bit more generous with the meat( that’s why I gave it 4 stars). Whether you choose two or four meats, you Get the same slice portion. The waiter was very friendly, polite and cheerful. We will definitely be back.

The choice of meat and veg was excellent but my friend saw another customer being given sausages and she would have preferred these to a roast but was advised they were only for children so she had veg only, it would have been good customer service to let her have a sausage and would actually have cost you less In the long run. Apart from that we had no complaints. The waiting staff were very friendly and efficient and I will come back again.

Pudding.We had a late lunch. As usual the food was lovely. But the waiting staff were fantastic. Especially Will. What an absolute asset to your organisation, he is bright and happy and a great laugh! Please pass on our compliments as he made our afternoon! We have titled this pudding and he will know why. Will leads the way on customer service !

Would rate no stars if I could. Walked in with no appointment, told it was fine as was quiet. Waited 20 minutes and had to approach our server, Carol, to be told I'll be right there, quite curtly I have to add. She then took another few minutes, on purpose in my opinion. Then no sorry for your wait or even any politeness. I told her it was fine we were leaving. Then hearf her say to her manager, oh they don't want anything. Definitively won't be back. Was our first time at that particular restaurant. Absolute shambles. Would have happily waited but sorry Carol, manners cost nothing!!!

It is unfortunate that these are so few and far between and this being our most local is still a 25 minutes drive away. The service is impeccable and staff are friendly and polite with service fast and courteous. The carvery is excellent as always and a nice selection of veg. Everything is cooked well and hot. When anything runs low it is usually replaced before it gets the chance to be empty so you are never left waiting on any veg to come out. Prices are good as well.Plenty of parking just make sure you use the machine inside to input your reg number so you don't incur a fine. This system is needed as when events are running out even just a nice day the car park would be abused by non customers as the park can be extremely busy during summer months.

Had the carvery. Food was very nice and there was a great selection available. Food service was very good. Place was let down by the fact that the free refills were only available for one drink then it ran out. When we asked for an alternative we were told there was not one we would have to buy other drinks. We understood when we ordered refills that would be available to us. Had we known that it would become unavailable we would have ordered something else. I asked what our options were and the staff member told me to buy more drinks. I was not looking for a full glass of juice and was not going to buy one to waste it. The staff were not very helpful with this considering there were so many of us and we had spent a good few hundred pounds in their restaurant. I fully understand when a place is busy staff are under pressure. However we watched as folk were taken to sit for their meals at tables that were already occupied. Had to queue for the carvery waited for about 40 minutes in line. Did not have to queue at door as we had already booked the table.

LOVED IT! Great really friendly and helpful staff and excellent food piled as high as you like on your choice of plate size! Even have a Veggie Bake that my vegetarian sister says is yummy - bit ironic😂a vegetarian dining at a Carvery but she left as stuffed full as the rest of us without compromising her meat-free diet! Great value for money - highly recommend it... you get refills of your soft drinks as many as you like too! GREAT!!
