Have visited this tea room a few times in the past and it was always busy and cosy with good food. In spite of only having a couple of tables with people seated we had to wait half an hour for a light bite fish and chips and French toast and bacon. Unwelcoming atmosphere . We would normally have a cake with our coffee but as they didn't look very appetising we didn't have one. Wouldn't recommend or go back. Disappointing

Superb cafe for a stop if you are cycling out from Glasgow. Great coffee and amazing cakes. The staff are very friendly and happy to fill your bidons with water.

Service was dreadful. Had to ask for milk for the tea, had to ask for salt and pepper for the food. No one bothered to come and ask if everything was OK. I asked for roll with very crispy bacon but when it came I had to remove the fat from the bacon. My friends son had chicken nuggets which he said were horrible, my mum and my friend had baked potatoes but they both said they were awful, tasted of flour? and the bottom of them were burned black. We won't be back!!!

Great cakes & panini's. Loads of room for a high chair and for my daughter to enjoy her lunch. Friendly & nice staff, will visit again next time we are through in Strathaven

On visiting this tearoom last Sunday we were very disappointed to see that not all of the staff were wearing face coverings. The track and trace was a joke, small pieces of paper cut up and lying on a table with the same pen for everyone to use and a box to put the completed paper in. Not everyone was doing this. A member of staff should have been appointed to ensure these details were taken. During the time we were in no tables or chairs were sanitised. To be honest we didn't feel safe in this establishment and were glad to leave. We did visit regularly but afraid we wont be back till this pandemic is over.

Strathaven cafe is so chilled and calming, offering some nice food and home made cakes. The staff are so nice and helpful, passing the time of day with all manner of regular and new customers. I had mac n cheese with chips and salad and found it good, wholesome and plentiful. I would thoroughly recommend this cafe.
