Went on Sunday at 5pm for Sunday lunch. We were the only people in. The restaurant was so cold. The radiators were off. The staff were cold too. We actually had to put our coats back on before the 1st course. The food was lovely and it was hot. We were so cold we didn't wait for dessert.. what a shame. They must be losing business for the lack of heat. Wont be back.

Awful experience here tonight for a family birthday dinner of 30+ people.Informed the manager about missing veg from one couple and she cheekily responded with 'I put the 4 veg on the table' when in fact there were only 3 which we had mentioned to the staff at the time that one couple wasmissing their veg. (The missing veg was actually on the other table but not sure how we were supposed to know that!) Sorry but check back the camera that was facing at us and don't call your customers liars over a plate of veg. Food was pretty poor and lack of choice. Won't be back, totally ruined the night. If you use this place hope that they don't get your order mixed up or they might be calling you a liar too!

Not at all like it used to be. Extremely disappointed with our meal tonight would gladly have paid the amount we paid tonight for the original 3 course the previous owner used to instead of the awful meal which was meant to be a steak . Lol. More like a glorified chop.Had I known when booking table that a new owner had taken over and not the usual value for money menu was taken off We wouldn't have gone.So my one time favourite restaurant will not be visited by my self and no doubt family again.

We booked a table today to celebrate father's day a day early as we were working tomorrow. The table was booked a week in advance. When we arrived the booking clearly hadn't been recorded and there wasn't a table reserved for us. Clearly the resteraunt was set up for an event and we were seated at a table pushed against a wall and squashed into a corner. The server was clearly flustered and made no apologies for the resteraunts mistake. We sat and were given scrappy creased menus. My daughter showed me her menu and said what's that?! It had crusted globules of food on it! At this point we decided to leave as enough was enough. We will not be back!

Lovely Sunday dinner at a very reasonable price. Roast pork was plentiful and tender , with a delicious sauce. Apple crumble is amazing! Only complaint was the background music. As the place was busy and noisy, the music just created an annoyance, to me anyway. Softer, more relaxing music would have improved the ambiance. The place is beautifully decorated with a contemporary feel. All in all a very pleasant experience.

Went for dinner here last night. Food was lovely however left a bit disappointed. Sat down for meal at 7.45pm. Starter and main course good. Asked to have 5 Minute break before desert. Were informed we couldn't have a break as if we wanted desert the kitchen closed at 9 pm. Ordered deserts but then we're told we couldn't have coffee as the machine off for the night. Our table of four left at 9.30 / 9.45pm. Felt our catch up meal with friends was cut short. Next time we will go elsewhere. Such a shame as we enjoyed our meals. Website says restaurant closes at 11pm. Pretty poor for restaurant to not serve coffee after 9 pm. Great food but poor service

Just had a great meal at the village steakhouse. I had the trio of fish. My husband had the roast beef. The price is an unbelievable £7.95 for three courses. Couldn't fault a thing. Excellent.

Went for Sunday roast lunch with a fairly large group of friends. Food was average. For my beef roast dinner I had what looked and tasted like out of a bag oven roast potatoes. Cauliflower was messy, mushy and had cream cheese on it - not very appetising to look at. Didn't even try to taste it. Beef was OK, as was the large Yorkshire pudding. Starter was average. Cost wise it was value for money, but I would rush back for Sunday lunch.

Can't beat a 3 course family meal for £7 a head.... Nice restaurant, 4 set menus for starters, mains and deserts.... Budget dining with a bit of panache.... Thoroughly recommend this for a choice to sit in comfort and dine in a village central location
