Circus Cafe & Restaurant in Bath and North East Somerset

This is a restaurant you should visit Bath just to eat at.We had a large party booking of 30 people, for a post-wedding meal. From the very start, Circus were accommodating in every possible way. We had the entire downstairs area reserved, and had a drinks reception followed by a full three course meal.My wife and I had been to Circus Restaurant before, so we knew the food was of exceptional quality, but this season's menu is unbelievable. Our guests ordered from the normal evening menu, and it is a testament to the quality of the menu that every single dish was ordered at least once. The food was absolutely perfect. Exquisitely prepared and presented, and I'm not exaggerating that for 30 people with 3 courses each, I didn't see a single dirty plate all night. Bear in mind also that 30 people getting fed at once did not disrupt one bit their usual service upstairs for regular guests!The service is absolutely top tier. Every guest was made to feel welcome, and there were waiting staff available at all times.Speaking to our guests since our wedding, all anybody is talking about is the restaurant and the food.It's that good!!!This restaurant and its staff get my strongest recommendation! I have been excited to leave this review since we ate here. Lovely and unique and just excellent! The pairings and textures and risks taken, they dance well and finish perfectly. I was impressed and moreover surprised at their ability to surprise my palette. Eating is much of what I do in a day and beyond. This is a standout gem with craft and care in the makeup and ingredient quality of these special dishes. I will always remember! If you’re in Bath I hope you’ll try it. Also we had an excellent white wine here, we took a photo of the bottle for later. Cheers!

Quite literally the closest food option to me and so I had to check it out and I was glad I did. Really solid operation with well crafted dishes, personable and professional staff and a small but interesting drinks program. Will certainly be back.

Came here with my partner the other day. Food was delicious, I had the muscles to start and rabbit pie as a main and they were to die for. The cocktails were good but didn’t stand out as much as the food.Service was fantastic- our waitress was friendly and attentive and made us feel very welcome.The atmosphere was also great; the good food and service really suited the space (a large room in a grand townhouse).For what it was the prices were reasonable. We paid about £90 before tip for 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 cocktails and a glass of wine which we both felt was reasonable given the quality and overall experience.

Go for starters! Starters taste better than mains! I will come back again and try some different dishes.

Amazing food cooked and prepared to an extremely high standard. Jess and Emma were an absolute pleasure, very professional, friendly and accommodating, both enormous assets to the success of a fantastic restaurant. I cannot praise highly enough.

Michelin star quality dishes. The staff are so warm and friendly. The ambience is so cozy and family friendly.

Amazing food and service. Everything was delicious and on point from the appetiser to the dessert. I would defo recommend to come here for dinner

The fish of the day is just fab. Love the creamy sauce with seaweed in it and the fish feels fresh and juicy. The chocolate dessert is very nice as well. Not sure about the clotted cream on the side tho, ice cream might be better? The roast chicken is nice but nothing outstanding.

Superb restaurant.The food, wine and service is all top tier. We had mussels and gazpacho to start, beef and lamb for main and cocktails for dessert and all was faultless. Particular highlight was the lamb on a bed of minted peas, broad beans and asparagus - exceptional dish.The staff here were all lovely. Highlight of our trip to Bath.
