Hudson Bar & Grill in Bath and North East Somerset

Had an excellent meal early on a Saturday night. From first arrival to departure the staff were friendly and efficient. We sat at the bar for a quick drink before moving to our table, and had three delicious, perfectly cooked, steaks. The truffle fries are very morish. An excellent recommendation of wine from one of the waiters was a nice surprise. Its not cheap, but for an occasion is worth it.

Food was first class. My husband had a tasty fillet steak which was cooked to perfection. He said it was the best steak he'd had. I had grilled sea bass fillets, a really good portion, also cooked beautifully. We first visited Hudsons 15 years ago, and it's still as good today as it was back then. The team that served us were friendly and professional. Thank you Hudsons.

Went for our anniversary and as we approached, we could smell the lovely flame grill. The building is beautiful, sophistication paired with traditional which is very true to Bath on a whole.Was sat behind the door downstairs which was a bit disappointing as we didn’t really have a view and got the draft of people coming in and out. Would have been good to have a nicer table for our wedding anniversary.The wine selection was really great and the one recommended for my choice of steak was lovely.The steak was beautiful and most definitely the star of the show. Not the very very best I’ve had but up there with some I’ve paid A LOT more from. Perfectly cooked with a subtle flame grill flavour.Thoroughly enjoyed, I’ll definitely return!

This is easily the best steak restaurant in Bath. I recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment. It's a little on the pricey side but worth it. I've found that the fries and other side dishes are generously portioned and easily shared between two.

I was really looking forward to eating here as it had been highly recommended by a trusted colleague. I don't know whether I've done something to offend said colleague but I'm sad to report that the experience wasn't not a good one.The restaurant had a lovely ambiance, quiet inside without being too stuffy. Our greeting was professional and friendly, after which we were shown to our table. Then the problems began;- We asked a few simple questions at the time of ordering about the size of the steaks, whether sharing sizes were available etc but we were made to feel like it was an inconvenience.- Our order was taken and our food arrived very quickly. When I say quickly I mean unnervingly so, I'd say somewhere between 5 to 10 minutes for a table of four. Unfortunately they missed one of our sides.- Our steaks all cooked the same despite three being rare and one medium rare.- Two of the steaks were of a high quality, unfortunately my steak was not one of them as it had a lot of fat and gristle. We would have liked to give feedback on this however there seemed to be a reluctance from the waitress to ask even though two of us left a significant amount uneaten.- We were given the dessert menus then waited for 30 minutes for someone to take our order (we ended up having to flag someone in the end). I think it is worth pointing out that the restaurant was half full, so it wasn't a case of the staff being overworked more that we had become persona non grata because we were obviously unhappy.All in all a very disappointing experience.

AMAZING! Great steaks, cooked to perfection! Great service and just a great place for a great dinner! A must visit for all serious steak lovers!

Meh.We had been wanting to try Hudson’s for a while. We showed up without a reservation, and the exceptionally friendly bartender was super quick in finding us a table, despite a server saying they were fully booked (although half of the ground floor’s tables were empty, and remained such for the entirety of our visit).Our server, on the other hand, seemed like he would rather be anywhere else in the world than at work. He scowled throughout, and acted like every request was too much for him, taking 10 minutes to bring us water, and abandoning ship when we requested our bill, to the point where we eventually had to go to the bar to get our check and pay.The food was decent, but nothing special. There are better burgers and steaks in town, and considering that’s what Hudson’s prides itself on, I probably wouldn’t return.

Excellent atmosphere, service and food. A super steakhouse which knows how to cook to perfect temperature. Great tasting steaks. Starters were great too. Prawns and calamari was excellent, so succulent flavoursome and well seasoned. A thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Really nice steak house just outside of the town. Steak was cooked perfectly and the sides were very tasty. The severs were also really friendly as well. It might be an idea to state there's a optional service charge on the menu, only negative.

We visited Hudson's for my parents birthday and it was perfect. Service was excellent and very efficient. The food looked and tasted amazing. We will most definitely be back!!
