Excellent stay at the Bear Inn. Very comfy room and well equipped bathroom, both recently refurbished. The room was quiet and it was a good night's sleep. Lots of nice touches in the room which made this extra special. We were greeted friendly staff and the customer service was excellent throughout our stay. Breakfast was very tasty and there was plenty of choice. We would highly recommend ☺️

On a brief week’s visit to Bath. This lovely, friendly, spacious pub is simply superb and I do not give praise easily. The menu is truly excellent and I would personally highly recommend the rib burger. Great choice of local ales which can be enjoyed on the quiet private sunny deck or comfortably indoors. Just a few minutes drive from the crowded town centre; a fabulous place to relax with ultra-friendly staff. I’m Canadian and definitely recommend that you go for the Bear.

I love the Bear. I've been going there for over a decade, and it never disappoints. Never better than it is now, after a stunning refurb. I love nipping in for a pint, either inside or outdoors in the beer garden decking, which is a real suntrap. Staff are very serene, which is perfect. Thank you!

Evening meal for 5 recently. Staff delightful, helpful, and friendly. Food absolutely delicious. In particular, my steak was one of the nicest I've had in a restaurant, very tender and perfectly cooked to medium rare. Highly recommended.

Only stayed one night! We both had the wonderful curry for dinner! The whole stay from start to finish was excellent! Breakfast was really good! Will definitely go back as soon as possible!

A disappointing breakfast for which we paid an upper end price. Very bland catering sausages (why when there are so many good meat producers in the area do they decide to use these?) And skimped on the bacon. Mushrooms were fantastic though as was the coffee. Orange juice tasted watered down, I have had better from Sainsbury's. The service was very slow too (dining room was not full). And to complete our dining experience the server who took our payment really could not have cared less. We will not be returning.

We came for Sunday lunch on Easter Day. Very welcoming and attentive staff esp Maddie who was looking after us.There was a range of beers but I enjoyed the local moor brewery offerings. Food was excellent with a baked hake and a pork roast hitting the mark. Esp good was the grilled hispi cabbage and the Yorkshire pudding.

We stayed here on a trip to Bath and thoroughly enjoyed it. The venue was renovated a few weeks prior and the interior is absolutely gorgeous. The rooms are comfortable, decent sized, with all amenities one could want. I couldn’t recommend the Bear Inn enough and it’s one of the best places I’ve stayed at. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. There is free parking at the rear for hotel guests, and a selection of beers and ales at the pub. It’s at the top of a hill which is very close to Bath town centre (10 min walk downhill, 20 back uphill). I will be staying here when I next visit. Thanks.

The face-lift has significantly improved the ambiance and the food was superb. Fantastic service from Maddie as well. Feels like The Bear has been waiting for someone to bring out its potential, and they now have.
