Friendly staff, awesome food and great ambiance. A fantastic dog friendly pub / restaurant in a great location. Popped in for lite bite and a drink, and we were very impressed with the quality and speed of the service, and food was just Wow! We highly recommend The Boater to anyone who wants great food and wonderful staff in a comfortable, casual setting. Can't wait to go back! Cooper gives it Five Paws.

Lovely pub, with downstairs heated covered bar area. Popped on for lunchtime pint. Enjoyed triple cooked chips too. Menu looked good.

A nice pub set over three stories and a nice beer garden by the river. But the gents toilets in this place are absolutely grim! Set in, strangely, corrugated iron? Come on guys, clean these toilets up please! Gross.

Chap behind the bar was very knowledgeable on wine and the top bar very chill, but then you find the downstairs. The cella is very cool with original features and direct access to the weir. The perfect spot for a pint.

A pub which takes its name from the hat rather that someone rowing a boat which is surprising as it is near the river. The pub itself is set on a ground floor street level and a lower level which leads out to a terrace. A well stocked bar with excellent service. A striking feature is the mural which forms the backdrop to the picture.

A friendly and welcoming environment awaits all visitors. Any one appreciating cask ale and a good selection of wines should definitely visit this well tended establishment. The owners/staff are friendly, knowledgeable and keep a well tended bar. The main bar is at road level, with a second bar counter down stairs with access to a delightful terrace garden next to the river/weir. Tables, chairs and benches are comfortable and are with character of the building. Highly recommend calling in either walking into or from Bath center.

A fabulous location, brimming with helpful and kind staff. I had the pleasure to visit last week and while I am not a huge drinker of cider, a helpful member of staff poured out little glasses for me to try, until I found a drink I loved. The Boater has a view of the street running down to Laura Place and a riverside view to die for. I'll be visiting again very soon!

Lovely friendly pub with a fine selection of beers. In a city with so many good pubs, The Boater is one well worth a visit.

Great pub right by the river and the rugby ground. I've been coming here on and off for 25years and it is always excellent. The food has improved over the years, and is now exceptional. The staff are friendly and the beer choice is fantastic.
