James runs an amazing Pub and I said I dont really do reviews but I felt he deserves a pat on the back. The atmosphere is very relaxing even when busy. He keeps very good beers and the food is extremly tasty. We had sticky pork bites. James keeps calm under pressure and even remembers your round even on returning later in the day. ( I will let off the Thatchers pint James🤣) A must visit if you are in Bath. And yes he should get an award for the best kept pub and the best decorated window. Hopefully we will be back soon. Oh the locals are friendly too.

the soup of the day (butternut squash + ancho chili) was the perfect way to warm up after a rainy/windy day in Bath! loved how welcoming & cozy this pub was

A great little pub. Good selection of drinks. All staff were polite and available when needed. 8 remember thinking that the music being perfect for a Friday evening after work.

Good selection of beers.Pretty busy and popular with tourists and locals. We had very differing experiences with the service - there was a very friendly and accommodating man who served us. However, I can only assume that the woman who took our order (and got it wrong), and who seemed aggrieved that someone may want to eat in the establishment, was having an occasional off day. That said, the food was pretty good. Ploughman's was pretty substantial, as was the beef sandwich... and chips were tasty.

Came in for a quick drink. We were welcomed with smiles from the staff and immediately felt at home. The staff were knowledgeable about their products and had some excellent local beers which were quite clearly kept to a good quality. Excellent experience and can’t wait to come back here again.

My wife and I stopped in here for lunch last week. We ate at a small window table and enjoyed the roast beef sandwiches and an order of fries. The fresh bread was amazing. We weren't that hungry so we could have easily split the sandwich. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

We had a pint and dinner at The Salamander and enjoyed all of it. The Gem ales were quite nice and the burgers and pork belly hit the spot. It was great to find someplace that was not a tourist trap and picked the brain of our wonderful hostess. She provided us with a written list for the remainder of our trip to Bath. We will definitely stop in here again on our next trip to Bath. Do stop in and say hello. Our friend Soo took and arranged great photos, as always.

Good service, nice pub to drop in for a drink. We had a selection of the snacks. Only note would be that the chicken tenders definitely need some kind of dip served alongside- dry tenders served with coleslaw were not ideal! Nachos and the pork belly bits were both good.

Great local pub, very friendly staff. Tried lamb & beef Sunday roasts, beef could have been less chewy, but lamb was delicious. Beware of large portions, we couldn’t finish our meals :)
