The Slug and Lettuce - Bath in Bath and North East Somerset

My friend & I visited yesterday for her birthday, we hadn’t booked but on arrival we were told we could sit anywhere that was free & not reserved.We ate lunch & drank cocktails, which was lovely but when we were about to order dessert, a waitress came over and told us very rudely that we had to leave immediately as the table was now reserved. Not “let me find you somewhere else” or “I’m really sorry but the table is reserved” just “ you’ll have to leave” & no smile. It was an order and she walked off quickly. I appreciate these places get busy but there’s no need for rudeness. It ruined the whole visit. Hence my lack of stars. Rudeness to customers is not acceptable.

Amazing food, friendly service. Had lunch yesterday the food was so good we came back next day for breakfast. Lovely friendly staff, thanks will definitely be back. Louise

I came to Bath for my friends hen do, we were recommend the Slug and Lettuce! It was a great recommendation as we had so much fun, we had a bottomless brunch but we stayed until late evening because the atmosphere was fantastic and the staff were so friendly, they seemed to enjoy what they do! We will defiantly come again :)

Good food with a decent selection for adults and children. No ice cream for childrens deserts when we visited. Food was hot and arrived pretty quickly. One meal arrived in an ornamental bird cage! Nice piece of theatre.Nice decoration and at the time of our visit circa 5:30pm and the restaurant/bar was mostly empty. It was rather loud and not ideal with some of the language. A group of men were enjoying themselves, and another group had one very loud gentleman indeed. However this is first and foremost a pub, so is understandable.Overall good food, prompt service and staff. We even ordered our food from their app. The negative was trying to get a refund due to no ice cream. More of a challenge as the staff said it was all via the app.

Jasmine is an amazing employee at slug and lettuce. Very kind very friendly. She helped us make our friend's birthday probably one of his favourite days ever. Strongly reccomend slug and lettuce, great cocktails, food and people.

Went for a quiet pint earlier this week to find staff and customers rowing at the door. Scared a chair was going to fly through the window at one point. Bar seems to be a haven for unsavoury characters. We left quickly which was lucky as a van screeched to a halt soon after and the two occupants entered the bar looking very menacing. Bar staff did little to help the situation and actually appeared to rile people up even more.

Would have been 4* as food was tasty. However, using app to order was slow and cumbersome and some menu options greyed out including only drinks available on kids menu. Also ordered kids sundae for puddings to be told at end of meal that they don't have any ice cream! My burger tasted good, but don't get why it needed to be served in a bird cage! Kids chicken breast burger also very good, great big chunk of chicken. Noisy pub, to be expected I guess, but prompt, friendly service and we were refunded for the sundaes. Don't forget to like my review 😀

Very relaxing place to enjoy a nice drink and something to eat, there are tables at the front and a garden at the rear of the pub, so don't be put off if you want to sit outside and the tables are taken. The staff are very helpful and friendly.
